I recently purchased my first tree saddle, an H2. :) So, I got out my Lone Wolf Alpha and the Muddy Pro climbing sticks, to see what I could do/adapt for tree saddle usage. Having not used this system in a couple of years, instead I've used my Summit Viper climbing stand. After making a trip into the woods behind my house to "test drive" everything, I quickly discovered the noise and weight differences of using a tree saddle.

The Muddy Pro sticks are the originals, which are 32" long with 3 fixed steps. The buckle straps are too short for larger trees, the buckles are more noisy than I remembered and not as easy to cinch down as a rope. This motivated me to purchase some climbing rated 8mm rope, cut some longer sections and modify them from the buckle straps.

Paint your sticks and they'll be even cooler...
I'd rather use a cloth camo tape vs. paint. The cloth tape will deaden other metal contact sounds and will be warmer to the touch.
Paint will, in time, scratch/peel off. Not to mention the smell that will take weeks to dissipate.
