Muddy Stick Cam Cleat Slipping

I've seen several posts about the Muddy pro's cam cleat slipping. Just curious to see if anyone has tried sharpening the cam gears to increase traction on the rope? I realize this is dangerous so you shouldn't modify your gear, increased risk, etc. Just curious to see if anyone has tried it...

I have used mine for about 8 years now and have never experienced this issue. I have also had to put new ropes on them 3 separate times from using them so much. I hope mine don't start slipping

I have a new set and I don't think it has anything to do with the teeth. It's the cam itself catching on the stick when it tries to rotate back into position. It has a pretty weak spring. If you rotate the cam by hand all the way and let it snap back it will snap back perfectly. When you wedge the rope into the cam it doesn't have enough force to rotate back and be tight. That's what I'm seeing with mine. Just put the half hitch in like they suggest and you'll be fine.

I'd be curious to see a close up picture of the cam teeth from the newer ones and compare them to the older ones to see if there's any difference. Can you snap a photo of one of them?
