PSA - Here is my DDIY utilibridge. What’s DDIY? It’s Don’t Do It Yourself!

I love my kestrel but I hate my long predator rope bridge that is bulky and not adjustable and too long. And in a couple posts I’ve asked questions about how to DIY utilibridge but I am an Amsteel rookie so I’ve been hesitant and don’t trust myself.

So hopefully he doesn’t get mad for calling him out but ...@Razorbak66 just randomly contacts me and says send me the Amsteel and I’ll do it for you! And he refused to let me pay shipping too. So he invested his time and the cost of shipping just to hook up a fellow saddle hunter with an awesome upgrade.

if there were a member of the month on SH @Razorbak66 would be the SH member for April - thanks man!

Just the latest example of how our community is awesome.

I know my stopper knot is wrong, I’ll fix it, but if I did anything else wrong def let me know!AA40C9AF-8273-45C7-8FA3-F0AF7A4149BE.jpeg

Did you fix the stopper knot? If so, what did you go with?

I wish I was a headlight on a north-bound train

If I remember when I saw Brett he had a double figure 8 for the knot he was cool to allow me to borrow and try out his predator platform. Good guy

Made one for my flex and cruzr xc

OP: I see your prussik is choked around the saddle loop. Is the other end of your bridge choked also?

No worries man..just wanted to help a fellow saddlehunter
@Razorbak66 my brain is hurting as to how you were able to start with a continuous loop and girth hitch around the saddle and tie the prussic, and chance you could send me a quick video on how you did it, or direct me if there is already a video? Looks great

It hurt my head too and I had no idea. So what @Razorbak66 (Art) had me do was first tie the prussik around a pencil, slide the prussik off the pencil being careful not to let the knot fall apart or allowing the hole from the pencil collapse, then simply girth hitch the knot and reminder of the continuous loop around the saddle loops. Then thread the bridge through the prussik. Boom.

Here is a video that shows it near the end.

Looks awsome. I built a smaller (Diameter) one on my tethered saddle for the the lineman’s rope. Works really well. I’m thinking about building one out of 5/16” Or 3/8” as an adjustable anchor strap for winching with my 4Runner.
