Been wanting to build a bow press for quite awhile. Finally got time to build one. Used a trailer jack for the screw and the rest I built. Bent and welded fingers from 1/2" square stock. Ignore the winch. It was from a temp draw board. Going to rework that now.....

Looks great, wish I had used a jack. I went the acme threaded rod route and it works, but.........

This is on my to do list when I build my man cave in my barn this winter.

2 questions...
1. what jack did you start with?
2. Did you make the fingers like this?

Reese 1400800383 Pro Series Square Jack - 8000 lbs https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004VRR9WK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_NRfYBb5VCY4QE
What I looked for in a jack was that it be square, have the drop down foot extension so as to get the length needed to press bows and that the handle be on the top of the jack rather than the side.

I did follow that video for the fingers. I then slid a piece of shrink tube over each finger to protect the bow from scratches.
