My First Yellow Jacket (tm) Saddle Build *** Complete 1 lb 7 oz

I sat on the plywood panel with the extra piece glued on from 3:30 to 6:30 last evening. No hip pinch, loving that. No butt pain. If I sit in my Lazy Boy chair at home for 8 hours my butt starts to feel it so about like that. Butt pressure is reduced, no doubt, due to the 8 inch wide back band.

I sat in the Yellow Jacket Board Enhanced saddle last evening for an hour. No pain of any kind. Saw no deer or squirrels.

I hunted this morning and the board cracked where the single layer met the double layer on the right side. I was up the tree for 5 hours. No hip pinch.

On my last hunt, I found the board enabled me to straddle the tree with no hip pinch. When I tried this on my Yellow Jacket or my sit drag before, it placed a LOT of side pressure on my hips. This was even after the board cracked during this hunt. I think I'll leave it cracked for a while.

Did you think about a adding 2 layers of carbon twill to your plywood sheet ?
it would definitely avoid the crack, take a look to the vids of DIY skateboards on YT

Thanks. I'll look into that. It feels like the bent up edge is more comfortable because the pressure is distributed more around the side. I was thinking of intentionally cracking the other side to test. This makes more of a contoured seat instead of a flat seat. Unintentional design modifications sometimes work out in the end. That is a pun but I didn't know it until just now. :mask: Maybe I can make a contoured seat using thin plywood and the carbon twill you suggested.
