My phantom opinions

I’ve been a saddle user for probably close to ten years, can’t really remember when I started. I’ve used an original trophy line ambush, sit drag, mantis, and now phantom. I’m mostly a leaner and use a predator for a platform. I liked the mantis and could have kept using it but wanted to give the phantom a try.

What I liked:
-new leg position hookups-no nut crunch
-comfort channels-being a leaner I liked the second to top position which put a little more pressure on the top strap and kept it from moving
-strap keepers-little thing but is nice
-mesh has a little more structure to it

Being a one stick climber I don’t generally use a linesman belt unless going over limbs. The new loops are big and easy to use though. Don’t really have any complaints so far. A good improvement over the mantis.

I also like my phantom. I am a new saddle hunter haven’t ever sat in anything else. So I can’t compare to anything. But the thing is super comfortable and light weight. I’m also rocking the predator platform. Have found out adjusting the angle down on it to comp for leaning is real comfortable. What for bridge length do you like ? I’ve been trying to fine tune bridge and tether to get the best comfort for me. I guess longer sits during hunting season will help do this.

The one thing that bugs me is the webbing part they burned for the comfort channels kinda don’t feel to good it you happen to touch it.

So far in testing it I seem to like about 6-8 inches from all the way out. Tether about forehead height. I’m not too picky about things though and seemed to be okay with the bridge all the way out and almost as short as it would go. It’s nice to have it adjustable.

Yeah I’ve run mine just about the same as you mentioned. Going to get out today and do some climbing.

I am in the same exact position. My first saddle ever but i really like it. I have not sat in it for a long time, but climbing with it is fun.
