I'm still pretty new here so I thought I'd show off some of my pics. I started with trailcams about 30yrs ago. And when I started I was like everyone else, I wanted to get pics of big bucks. But over the years the hobby kind of morphed into it's own thing. Now while I still want to get pics of nice bucks, this is what I do with my cams in the off season. I have to say, waterfowl pics are my faves. These were all taken with my homebrew cameras. They are cameras that I modify from point and shoot cameras and turn them into trail cameras

That’s really neat. I think they talked about guys doing this on the Meat Eater podcast, mainly for elk. Care to share some pictures and details of the camera you make?

Here's an example. This point and shoot camera started life as a Sony H70 but there are many cameras that can be used. You hack into the camera and figure out where the shutter control is, there are many videos online that show this. You get a control board from one of the companies that make them, such as snap shot sniper, and then you hard wire the controls onto the the control board. The control board has a motion detector built in and then it just works like any other trailcam. You mount all the components into a waterproof box, and there you have it. It sounds like alot of work but it really isn't. And the quality of the pics are just second to none.
