Hello everyone!

been stalking saddle hunter for alittle but now and made the leap buying a saddle for hunting. I will share my setup but have to make a choice on tether and lineman’s rope.

now I climb towers for work so heights, knots, gear are not really all that new to me. I have a armid petzl positioning lanyard with a gri gri on it for work and I have another Buckingham positing device I can put on for atree tether with making up a nice 11mm rope.

now to my question after that rant I was wondering about oplux 8mm rope and a Ropeman 2 is it worth the purchase to lighten the setup alittle and is it quieter then the Patel gri gri because that def does make some noise on the carabiner.

stick with my tower position lanyard, make a tree tether and use my position devis?

orrrrrrrr

Buy 8mm sewin eye oplux with a Ropeman2 or Kong’s duck

buy trophy line lineman belt and tree tether with ropeman1 to silent up the system alittle

Here’s my parts list

mission plateform
Tethrd Phantom
Terherd hys
Terherd sys hauler 2.0
standard beast sticks
Hero clip

I use a sewn eye oplux with a prusik and my tether. works great, lightweight and packs down small. I use sterling htc 9mm for my lineman’s as it’s a bit stiffer making it easier to flip up a tree and I use a Duck on it as well to assist with positioning, really helps when you’re climbing and want extra slack but need to tighten up for stick placement.
I don’t have any do with your current gear but will say my king is pretty quiet. There’s things you can do such as wrapping them, plastidip, etc. I use a black diamond biner that’s just small enough to rotate but not large enough to have a ton of slop.

Those are good ropes. Here is my 6’ petzl with a grillion on it

So I ordered two things from EWO with the kong duck. I believe it’s the oplux 8mm rope. Now just the waiting game on everything to come in

DanO ships fast. You won’t be waiting long. Be careful that’s a dangerous site. Man a saddle hunter has gone bankrupt while exploring its depths

Yeah DanO keeps intelligently adding to his inventory - solving problems whether we know we have them or not, getting distribution for hard to find stuff, plus carrying a ton of useful throw-ins...
