New and improved jx3

I got mine a couple of weeks ago. It is the most comfortable seat I have ever sat in in the woods. I am very happy with my purchase. I think you will like it.

Mods can we ban the phrase “slim hybrid” hahaha. I take full responsibility, but it ain’t happening anytime soon. Tired of seeing people’s hopes get dashed.

I am 100% confident that if it becomes a reality, it will be shouted from the rooftops. Don’t worry. Go get a hybrid, you’re gonna love it.

Thanks guys, I already tried to contact JX3 Outdoors twice with no reply. I even offered to pay extra money to get mine upgraded or to do a swap if possible. Even a NO would have been nice instead of being ghosted.

I'm sure it does happen if you buy enough saddles and are always chasing the latest and greatest but I'm coming from an Original Guido's Web so it will be YEARS before I buy something new.

My advice from past experience would be if you want a slim or any other upgrades I'd just wait. Even if they say there are no plans it could happen in a couple months.

Got mine in a couple hours ago. The webbing that goes through the back so you can adjust the backrest was twisted. So I had to take it off to get it straightened out & the elastic webbing that goes around the belt on both sides where the extra belt webbing goes through is already coming apart. Other then that I think it's going to be pretty nice to hunt out of.

I have a "bungee" thing from an old summit climber that was used to keep the bottom and top of the climber attached in the event the bottom slipped out from under you, you could retrieve it. It's a small, but strong bungee, dark green. I use this on my lone wold hand climber and on my one stick when I use one stick. I girth hitch the bungee to the LWHC / 1 stick, then clip it to my lineman's belt loop or to one of the molle loops somewhere on the saddle.

The good thing about the JX3 is that if you end up losing your LWHC/stick, as I have, the comfort of the fork and the seat allows you to not get all frazzled while trying to retrieve your climbing aid. It just gives me a piece of mind, because I have had the bottom of an old climber fall out from me after completely failing.

This is it plus summit backpack straps at wally world, but you could prob DIY something for less than $20

Hey man, I have only practiced out of it. The few hunts I have been on have either been more suitable to my trophyline saddle or ground hunts.
I shoot a pretty short bow - 60" recurve - so it is possible to shoot the trad out of the JX3Hybrid for sure, but there are also way more limitations. (Don't read that as me not liking this thing, because I do and I am trying to make adjustments so that I can use it all the time).

1) The bridge and bridge height of the JX3 is high and when you are shooting a trad from the seated position, well it's just proven to be quite difficult for me to do that. And since sitting in the JX3 is a HUGE selling point of that saddle for purposes of being able to comfortable sit still... I just don't think you can do much trad wise while seated.

2) shooting from the lean or standing position is very similar to any other saddle, the bridge and bridge height is a little wonky, but you get used to it. But standing/leaning in the JX3 defeats the purpose IMHO.

3) USing the JX3 from the ground, either in "turkey mode" or using a support system as a seat is an excellent way to shoot; you get all the comfort of the JX3 without any of the bridge interference.

4) Shooting trad already introduces movement into the scene when an animal is potentially pretty close; if you have to also go from JX3 seated position to standing/leaning... I just think that would be no bueno. I was in the mountains not too long ago and had a black bear at 11 yards. I had to switch to my weakside behind the tree. I didn't end up killing the bear because he didn't read the script, but he also didn't bust me. I just know if Had to stand, then move to weakside there would be no question he'd have seen that movement instead of the simple liftig the bow over behind the tree withno other body movement that I did with my trophyline.

I hope that helps man. I am really new to hunting, and even newer to saddles so i am sort of learning as I go.
Do you shoot trad?

Thx splatek... yes I shoot trad... just trying a saddle now for grins, but usually use ultra light lockons, or a LW climber. I recently heard a podcast discussing that JX3. I know the guy shoots trad, but he never mentioned it this time. It's not for me, way too much movement, but I'm sure like anything else it has plenty fans.
Best of luck to you this fall. Enjoy the ride...

Man, i was listening to some fella today on a podcast while I was prepping a deer shoulder from the first deer I ever killed with a recurve, only my fourth ever deer, LOL and he started talking about shooting a 62" recurve from the JX3. BUT, and it's a big but, apparently he uses his lineman's belt to tie down the bridge so it's not in his way....and he said he shot from the JX# while seated. If I could figure that out, I would be so comfy in the woods... I guess it's time to start tinkering and playing in the yard again.

I shot out of the hybrid with a 66” bow yesterday. I am not a trad guy. I’m 6’3. But my initial impression is that if you’re sitting, you’re going to be limited in shot selection to a certain downward angle, and a certain shot angle left to right. I don’t know that it would be much different than if you were sitting in a lock on.

in my severely limited trad piddling, it seems like you’d ideally be standing to take a shot.

I will spend more time up a tree messing with it at some point. But it’s pretty low on priority list. My advice isbuy a hybrid, new or used, and sell it for a few bucks less than you bought it for if it doesn’t work for you. The classifieds here are awesome, and should be taken advantage of while that’s the case

My solution to the difficult to adjust straps.

HJ Garden 4pcs Metal Ladder Lock Buckle Slider Adjustable Zinc Alloy Buckles for Backpack Strap Accessories 25mm(Black) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07Y9NTPTM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_0gsFFbB1E5T96
This is what I used. Just sewed it to the buckle.
