New Bow Build

I purchase my wood locally which I prefer. Like to look at the wood grain. Buy my glass and smooth on from Binghams. Ordered odds and ends through 3 Rivers, Big Jim’s or Kenny’s Archery.
I do grind all my laminations. Prefer that since I can control it. Wether it takes me 1 hour or such. Like to make sure they are correct.
I do use an air hose and hot box. 80psi for the air hose and cook the bow for about 4 hours. After 4 hours I shut it off let it set till morning then remove.
Laminations as follow. 2- pieces @ .400” 1- Stabil-Core @ .015” 1-Parellal @ .079“ Taper @ .079“ at fade Final lamination controls weight

Grinding your own laminations is impressive.
I've toyed with the idea of trying to make bows for myself (a long time ago) but I always thought that I would buy laminations. I have no confidence that I would be capable of making my own lams. Nice work!

Laminations are pretty easy. Just take your time and don’t remove too much at a time. One of my favorite parts of building bows.

More pics. Bows are shaped and ready for overlays. After overlays I’ll be cutting the sight window and shaping the grip. Getting close.

More pics. Applying overlays on both bows. Not Much longer now. Just cutting in the riser shaping the grips and fading the overlays.

Sight windows are cut in and handles roughed in. More shaping and sanding. Getting closer.

Like the name woodsdog2. I’m not good at naming things. I’m so bad at naming I wasn’t allowed to name my dog. I do call this longbow the Mackinac model. It’s a Michigan thing.
It is cut off center slightly. For me it’ll hit where I’m looking at.

We are going to need you to stay off the forum until you get these bows finished for us to gawk at. Chop, chop.
