I know this forum has some really awesome guys with super ideas and i would love to hear them.
Tactics gear or whatever.
will there ever be the perfect setup ?
I do believe we are on the tip of a New ERA of equipment in hunting.
just starting to see the crazy lightweight stuff starting to emerge.
whats next? How much lighter can we make things without being unsafe?
All people have different methods snd ways to do things so i think it is interesting to hear about.
We are seeing all the light weight stuff and companies battling each other for the sales of mere ounces.
What do people want to see made to better and make easier hunts?
Will the prices just keep soaring ?
Whats everyones thoughts and Ideas out there?
Please share Gear Ideas if not planning on manufacturing.
to me the little details of things is big

If the new ERA of equipment involves 7 month hype before release, then I'll pass.

Until saddle pants are available, I think a legitimate climbing platform is the next thing that will get my attention. Most everything as of late has been more of the same and of no interest to me. Shaving ounces on sticks is redundant and unnecessary at this point. Platform sizes...covered. Strap on steps...plenty available. Aiders...everyone and their brother makes and sells them now.

Agree 100% lol and all is absolutely the whole reason i posted this.

Publicly declaring you were a saddle hunter 30, 20, 10, even 5 years ago was a fairly reliable signal indicating the type of hunter you were. It’s essentially worthless as a signal now. The demand for that signal is intimately connected to the innovation and out of the box thinking that came along with saddle hunting. Both have reached critical mass.

Now we’re in iterative change phase and race to the bottom. How do I know? YouTube money getting aside, Good hunters have largely settled on systems, talk about them rarely now, and don’t see value in incremental changes anymore.

i am personally interested in ounce chasing because the innovation translates well to other things that interest me and are important to overall advancement of technology. But it’s got little to do with deer hunting success

Ok.
i will try to respond on how i want people to take your wording of your response, and im hoping not the wrong way words are hard to read sometimes so here it is.
Ive saddle hunted since 2007 off and on.
been around the block few times. Im a stand guy most of time.
I am by far an expert
Ive been climbing the same way off and on since then. I started hunting in the early 80’s then seriously in mid nineties
As i stated been there done that.
ive done the same tactic for climbing since early 200’s thats when i started poking around the mobile game. Everyone has a way and sadly most people are judged by thier ways of doing things. Its just the new way of the world.
everybody is a killer and an expert. Do it this way or your an idiot lol.
you tube money? Lol.
Wish i could see some. Everyone and thier mother has a you tube channel.
Its cool to realize how many people are out there. Helping? Yes but are looking for eventual financial or some sort of gain.
most imho are seeking the wrong thing and really quit helping especially the big ones.
Those days are long behind them.
You tube and social media is a follower builder.
Then eventually dangle products or a name.
branding. Jab jab punch marketing.
its the trend bro, and trends and followings are now the way of the world my friend so get used to it. Click that sub and like man.
remember trends now run everything lol

Hunting regulations are a critical component defining an "Era of hunting"

Nationally, crossbow opening up is probably the biggest thing we've seen. https://www.gameandfishmag.com/edit...e-state-of-crossbow-hunting-in-america/191077

But this can be a much more local issue...just ask Pennsylvanians and the change they've experienced since the early 2000s.
Im talking gear not a legal or regulation debate. GEAR for the future. Hunting or even photography from a stand
Too me i dont care what one hunts with its your choice as long as its legal and i also can choose to. Im fine with it.

Look at the crossbow tech boom...and sales.

Regulations in Europe have driven gun manufacturing at the cutting edge of technology. The refinement of the straight pull rifle....now seeping its way to the US common market, being offered this year by Savage Arms.

Why use a HYS...because regulations say you can't screw into or spike a tree.

Who knows, saddlehunters keep falling out of trees and we might see the advent of the "Walldrop Era." lol.

I have noticed a trend this last season with guys focusing on ground hunting so maybe more stuff like the walldrop? May not be equipment related but last couple of seasons it’s been easier to find little pieces of private land and more leases up to grab...I don’t know if this is do to the mobile hunting/public land boom??

I don't think we're seeing the beginning of lightweight gear. I think we've hit diminishing returns. We're now making stuff out of titanium and carbon fiber, and that's endgame stuff for every industry I know of. The capability to do that has been around, it just wasn't obvious that folks would pay for it. But here we sho do be. I just wish LWCG would hurry up and make a 10lb hand climber.

If anything, my best prediction is that the pendulum swings back towards heavier, more comfortable gear. Everybody wants to be high speed, low drag until it's time to climb on carbon fiber bolts and sit on half an anderson sling all day. Then they want a mission, a back band, a rut roost, some knee pads...anything to make the pain stop but still let them be saddle hunters.

The same thing that happens to everything else happened to saddle hunting. It's gotten "cool." Inevitable and not really a bad thing, but it signals the twilight years for a punk band and critical mass for a hunting trend. Look at Duck Dynasty and duck hunting.

I agree lol. I jyst think the companies will find other materials to make lighter. Its coming. Might not be fir awhile but it will.
i seen yesterday a mechanical elevator tree stand lol. Ride the rails to 20 feet

Guys i meant to post this for a positive thing with some or limited shows snd workshops going on.
my meaning is opinions on what equipment needs to be made or ideas put out there. What equipment needs improvements?
regulations, laws, or even bag limits are not my intention.
I definitely be careful with wording next time.
god forbid if i butt hurt anyone. Was not my intention

We can be lead, and we will follow.

True.

"Gear" ERA's are usually defined by the followers not the innovators. If we are in a "Saddlehunting Era" or "Boom", how many years have passed between the Anderson Sling and the advent of "Saddlehunter.com"?

Internet has really sped things up.

In guns, the "AR Era" the "LPVO Era"..."Semi-Custom rifle era"..."1000yd rifle era"

The "Mechanical Broadhead Era", the "Ashby Ranch Fairy Man Arrow Era, lol"

I'm with Nutterbuster, I want a 10 pound climber that is functional and comfortable. Take my Summit Viper and make it out of titanium and I'll pay $600 for it but they'd probably want $1500.
No doubt. Throw a brand on it do away with materials. Cheaper to build and say hey look what i made. Buy it for 700$. Lol

How much did it weigh? If it gets close to the weight and packability and cost of carbon bolts I'm there. I'll even pay a bit more.

While saddlehunting has expanded in popularity as has Ultralite Mobile Stand Hunting....it would be interesting to see sales figures of "traditional" hunting gear vs sales of the more specific mobile hunting gear we typically discuss on this site. I don't know that saddlehunting defines the current mainstream hunting picture. But the Utube is developing a saddlehunting following that continues to grow. Will it overtake stand hunting? Probably not.

It may not be punk anymore, maybe its alternative?

The only saddle I know of that has made it into the major retail industry is the Hawk Hammock, and I'm not sure they made it to stores or not.
