New Era of EQUIPMENT when is the start of the end?

if your theory about folks wanting honesty and transparency held, youd Have lot of subscribers, and the devils you have such a bone to pick with, would have none. Or are you saying that millions of people are dumb and blind and can’t see what you see?
Controversy draws subscribers and then you can go viral. Of course, loud annoying music draws 'em too.

I want a 10 pound climber that is at least 26 inch length but no wider than 16 inches...I’ll pay thecrazy high end price I waste more money in a year on dumber stuff!...also is there a website that list leases/hunt clubs?

I think they kind of snuck the Bear/Trophy Ridge affiliation in there initially. They went to get new bow setups and coincidentally they were all Bear bows with Trophy Ridge accessories.

I agree. As long as they're not pushing gimmicky stuff then I understand they have to pay the bills. Midwest Whitetail turned me off with all of the ad placement.

I like when they did the Walmart challenge (Bear Bow w/ Trophy Ridge), Jake suggesting getting one cheaper used.

Maybe as we push the boutique market, "cheap gear" will continue to get better for the average jack.

Now that We have gotten all of our feelings out about the influencers of youtube.
lets back track and just state what new ideas of gear and equipment we want to see in the future.
lets not get each other in a fanboy pissing match.
We all have different opinions about the so called experts or big boys.
i posted this to get opinions and ideas of what people want from new snd even improved existing gear.
thnks
I see a trend , many of these threads turn into a trolling session of social media influencers. Let’s stick to the topic you started or this is getting locked. All this other noise doesn’t really serve a purpose.......

I have zero bone to pick with anybody lol.
i really dont care.
i take it i guess your labeling me as a liar and im nit trustworthy or honest?
Or are you saying i shouldnt be honest and trustworthy and people will follow?
Lmao. I guess ill never have a following i refuse to do it.
Think what ya want brah. Like i said earlier i call it how it is and say it the same.
have a great day.

all I’m saying is if the only options is your competition is full of it, or your audience is dumb, the equation doesn’t work.

I’m thinking there’s a lot more to it, and admitting that goes a long way to not insulting millions of normal people.

it’s possible that THP are young, pretty, well spoken, and know how to inspire or motivate or excite people. Oh yeh, they’re also good hunters. And are perfectionists on the technology side. I don’t think they have the following they do because they’ve tricked everyone...I think it’s possible people just like their stuff, for lots of reasons.

saying you don’t have a bone to pick after a dozen incoherent posts picking the bone is confusing. Be honest. It’s ok if you have a bone to pick. We’re cool with it.

Edit - missed the teachers getting us kids back on topic. Apologies.

I wasn’t taking a stance, I was just pointing out some discrepancies that may ease the grief giving to said influencers, and their followers.

you’re all good man!

I think what he's saying is that folks like THP and Infalt are providing value to more people than you (or me). And either all their followers are hoodwinked, or there's a component you're overlooking or ignoring.

My education and work experience is sales, marketing, and customer service. Most of the media we consume is funded by advertisements. Is that a bad thing? Well, it means that for the consumer, it's "free." That annoying radio ad means you get the best of classic rock without coughing up a red cent, the DJ gets to eat, and male enhancement pill manufacturers get exposure. Adsense revenue means that I can buy a piece of gear, hunt with it, do a review, and there's something in it for me to comp the $1,000 camera and $500 mic and a couple of hours of filming, editing, uploading, and replying to comments. And you don't pay a dime for the information and entertainment!

But, there's precious little money to be made through adsense. The CPM is too low and hunting is a very small industry with most of the consumers being moderately to not at all digital media savvy. So how do you fund the content? You approach companies in the industry who will get a better ROI advertising on your niche channel, and you ask them for money in exchange for advertisement. A sponsorship.

This type of advertising is so prevalent that you'd have to be living under a rock not to realize that anytime you see 100,000 subscribers on a hunting channel and they're posting once a week and not asking you for money, there's a sponsorship involved. Rarely do folks hide it, because doing so is generally "illegal" or at least against platform policies, and most manufacturers WANT consumers to know they're contributing to the entertainer.

If a sponsorship is deliberately hidden, then I find that distasteful. But, show of hands, who doesn't know that THP is gonna push OnX and Tethrd? It's not a secret.

Everything costs money. Unless you want to pay a subscription fee to the hunting beast, Dan has to make money some way. So he sells a stand. You'll notice our forum admin doesn't have any ads on his platform, and there are people willing to pay for that.

Needing money to eat, have a roof over your head, and to be able to keep doing the thing that you like doing and other people like you to do isn't a crime or a scam. It's just a reality.

As far as honest advice, here's some hard truth that I don't mean in a bad way. My buddy who hasn't killed a deer in 3 years can give you honest advice on deer hunting. He's an "average joe" who hunts maybe 2-3 days a week. What's his advice worth? How many people want to hear it? Not many. If he wants to give it out, he'd better just do it as a public service and not expect a dime unless he can make you laugh your socks off while giving it. Meanwhile, the guys who hunt every day of season and who stack deer up have value because they know something about killing deer. Even the much maligned tv guys like the Drury Brothers, Mike Waddell, and Tim Shockey know a LOT more about killing deer than you or I because they just get to do it more.

Interestingly, they often just push products and give trite advice as a filler. Most folks say that's because they're getting sponsored. But...I'd say from personal experience that as a content creator, if you want to be successful you CREATE WHAT PEOPLE WANT TO SEE. People want to see the gear. People want to buy the gear. People may SAY they want to learn tactics, but gear sales vs magazine, book, and DVD sales tell a different tale. As ole @kyler1945 likes to say, "private truths and public lies." Gear reviews on my channel generate more interest and money than hunt videos or how-tos. I'd have to be a fool not to recognize that trend and plan accordingly.

You seem like a nice guy. I'm not sure how you came to the realization that money is behind everything but im glad you did. I don't think it's a secret to most folks though. Most people understand that if you have the time to do nothing but hunt and write or make videos, somebody is paying your bills for you. The only issue I've ever seen in this little corner of the world is when folks didn't disclose that info and you had company owners posing as regular joes. We fixed that with vendor badges and life went on.

This post brought to you by folgers coffee. The best part of waking up, is folgers in your cup. And now back to your regularly scheduled programming.

Thp and Dan infalt are great they are great at what they do. Very knowledgeable for thier areas snd the areas they travel all over the midwest to hunt lol.
i think your missing my point.
Im not gonna really keep this going so ill just say that
Lets get back to the original subject

Now there's a good post and is the words im trying and was trying to get out.
agree 100%.
with all that said i’ll go back to what i said before. Sadly Trends rule our world now
The trend now is public land and equipment.
Some things are very hard to put into words how you feel about things. This is one subject to me that is super hard to say the right thing so noone gets the wrong idea or buthurt.
the majority of times i do express what i feel is just like this taken wrong or labeling someone or a group. Its not my intention at all
Nutter you hit it on the head.
Im not saying someone is not being honest or lying. Again. Love THP ‘s content and the beasts content.
fans are gonna be fans.
I guess everyone needs to follow someone. and trends are gonna make or break ya.

They are kind of subtle about it except when the aren't. Even then they seem reluctant to pimp their gear, but that might be part of the act. The internet, money and politics has made me so cynical.

Zach wears that predator pack and monster fanny everywhere, but keeps water in the predator pack and hunts from the ground. The next day Badlands monsters sale out along with predator packs (mostly supply issues).

Most of them wear a saddle and hunt from the ground. Greg did a video where I felt he was forcing the tree climb a bit when the ground would have gotten the job done. Might have been for all the self filming requirements which is a trend that has taken off as well.
I feel the same way bro. I was a corrections officer for 20 years im retired so i dont trust people. Im always looking behind the scenes and trying to figure out the motives. Dome are super easy some cover their tracks very well.
with the last few years of just cancerous politics, news media, and social media coverage i have kind of grown to get worse

Even the cheapest gears today can out perform some flag ship gears 10 years ago. My back up Mission Craze 2 that I ebay for less than $100 shot just as well as my main bow Mathews Creed. But god damn it the Creed just look so much prettier....

I want a 10 pound climber that is at least 26 inch length but no wider than 16 inches...I’ll pay thecrazy high end price I waste more money in a year on dumber stuff!...also is there a website that list leases/hunt clubs?

Lightest is not always going to work unless the design is there too. My first climbing stand that I got was actually FREE. Someone was giving away a X-Stand Mini, I thought I found free gold. It was 11 lbs, but after one season and whole heartedly try to love it, I realized why they gave it away. It actively tries to kill you....

I bet something ridiculous and not actually effective will come up next (like scent killer products). The game changing meaningful equipment has hit the markets and will be improved from a quality convenience factor. But my gamble would be that some new technology will appear and one of the personalities will back it and then boom it’s popular, then we all realize it didn’t actually help and wasted money.

I’m hoping it’s a packable squatty potty in First Lite or Sitka camo

I actually have a portable Squatty Potty. My wife got it for me because I love the full size one. It's gray though. Good for hotels and what not.
