New from Cincinnati

Where in Cincinnati? Where do u hunt in Ohio? I live in nky about 40 from Cincinnati airport
Colerain area, only hunted two seasons so far, have hunted in East Fork and Mt. Airy Controlled hunt once, was supposed to hunt Mt. Airy this past season but torn my labrum and had shoulder surgery two weeks before the season opener.
You ever hunt up this way?

Welcome from WNY. I would also suggest becoming a friend to youtube and just search saddle hunting videos. Tethrd has great videos on their site. There are great educators on this site as well as on youtube people like G2 Outdoors, Catman Outdoors, Nutterbuster, DIY Sportsman, The Hunting Public (THP), Boudreaux Boswell, Bowhunter TV has a great saddle hunting video that is kind of a catch all. Then drill down deeper with specific information from a lot of these other channels. The information is endless really.

Welcome from Michigan, from another newbie to saddle hunting. I felt the same about the climber, so I bought an XOP Vanish and a set of hawk helium sticks last year. Even though they’re “light weight” it was just as bad carrying and setting up! Which brings me to the saddle world! Tried the Phantom on February 28 & ordered it the same day, just waiting on it to arrive. Can’t wait to get practicing with it. To ad to the YouTube channels @woodsdog2 mentioned, check out David Toms (@DaveT1963) and flinginarios , they have some great saddle hunting content. Have fun.

thank you!! Yea it’s a bit overwhelming as I don’t know anyone local who saddle hunts. Plan to attend the train and teach with tethrd in Louisville but that’s not until June. So that’ll be my first chance to try out a saddle

That’s how I tried it out since I’m in the same boat, not knowing anyone who uses a saddle. There is a map on this site that shows you the location of members on here and I’m sure if you reached out to someone close to you, they’d probably let you try theres out. Doesn’t hurt to try, better than waiting until June. Lol
