Welcome from Mississippi! Lots of good information and good folks here. Are you new to hunting or experienced, and what methods if any have you been using?
fairly new I have 1 deer to my name 6 point buck with .243. I have been getting into bow hunting and hunted the public on ground so far. the method I have been looking at is one sticking. I like the ability to reduce what I carry on public, and flexible to where to set up.
Hey, a 6 point is a great place to start out your hunting career! I was looking at one sticking and got sidetracked into 2TC and decided I didn't need the stick, lol. One sticking is a very popular method for sure. There are a lot of really knowledgeable guys who climb that way and I' sure they will chime in soon with some help. Bowhunting is great, and you will learn more in one year of bowhunting public ground than many people will learn in a lifetime. Good luck and have fun.
Hey bud. welcome for columbis sc. I started saddle hunting and one stick climbing this past season. I love it.Id be happy to give you some help if needed. Welcome from North Florida… you picked the right site to get a ton of healthy info and a little bit of bull
Be warned the classifieds here is a great place to lose your wallet
A lot of good info here, good peeps, civil discourse, exceptional humor, encouragement and wisdom.
Get a good used saddle, skip RCH and sit drag, get shrink wrap or black athletic tape, aluminum carabineers, 9-10 mm rope, Kong duck or equivalent, climbing sticks, a platform you can kinda of stand on, a decent backpack.
Practice at ground level a lot, learn knots, and go slow and quite.
