For what it’s worth, the man behind the scenes (whom I trust and greatly respect) told me that the stitch quality for the demo saddles they sent him, were better than his own. After multiple conversations with John from JX3 I believe that he may be right because JX3 also said the quality was better than what he produced domestically.
Honestly I am too much of a quality control freak to outsource overseas. I bet AJ and the guys thought I was a pain in the butt to work with on the deluxe because for the saddle to function perfectly as designed, it requires certain materials and things like the mesh pleat HAS to be oriented in exactly the right direction so that the pleat keeps the Velcro like quality when closed. If it’s the wrong mesh or if the mesh is turnt a 180 degrees, it would be nearly as floppy as the old Kestrel flex was. I can’t imagine myself trying to explain that to a Chinese interpreter!

From a broad perspective, my understanding is the tariffs are/ were supposed to make it more difficult for foreign producers to leverage their super cheap labor so that domestic production is given a much needed boost. So, just as the overseas markets have for years utilized tariffs on our exports, thereby pushing down demand for USA products internationally, to stay in our consumer driven market here in the US, these foreign companies have to pay to play more. Not sure why it is still more effective to continue overseas production unless the tariffs have been greatly reduced? Or there is too much greed. Can’t we ever have long term thinking anymore in this country? That’s why I would rather support CGM, ACO, OO, TactiSaddle,Treehopper.

Not sure who is partnering with China but we also have Dryad.
LWCG is changing manufactures of their harness because their previous manufacture is going to move production out of the USA.
 
Picked up the Latitude Praxis this afternoon at my local shop. I can definitely see this working great as a late season pack. Very well designed and comfortable to wear. Is it worth the price? Maybe….but there’s a lot of thought that went into designing it. I’m just a big fan of g hook connections, and that’s all it has besides the waist belt and chest strap. I’m gonna have to play with it more and figure out where to put everything

First impressions were good, but the more I mess with thing, the worse it gets….you shouldn’t have to figure out how to make a pack work. The issues I’m having is how to pack sticks and a platform without having metal to metal contact with a g hook. The outlook on this thing is dropping faster than red panties after fighting Connor McGregot… the g hooks kill this pack. If you’re hunting deaf deer, it’s a great pack.

I think I’ve got it figured out after removing a couple straps and removing the lower titan strap that runs around the frame pack part. It’s doable. I added some buckle straps to the bottom of the pack for sticks. A platform will sandwich between the frame pack and the bag silent now. Might need to hockey tape a few buckles and it’ll be good. I was cussing it for a minute…

I haven’t messed around with mine yet but there’s a few videos on their social media account that show different ways to set up the pack. Not sure if it’s quiet though

I bet some Plastidip on those hooks would fix it right up and would probably stay better than hockey tape
