New Gear Release 2022!

No…. Just picked up a Kuiu on sale for 1/3 the price of a kifaru. Their last price increase priced them out of justified purchase. $1000 for a pack? That’s friggin insanity. Oh and it’s a 12 week wait on kifaru at the moment.

12 weeks if you ordered by may 1. Not sure after that with their move.

I did get a kifaru frame on their last sale and boy is it heavy duty. And I agree with previous post once I put it on the weight disappeared. But I still wonder if it was worth it for Michigan whitetail as I have no idea if or when I will be able to go west. I just get into some public land the pack out would be better that drag out.

And it would be great to rig the frame for canoe portages, would feel better than 2 boat oars on the shoulders.

I love my kuiu venture and my seek outside pack as well but I really think I am going to need to get a kifaru. Yea its pricey but like they always say, you pay for what you get. Or something like that.

Eh…. Had a shapecharge. Doesn’t live up to the hype. Those X-ray straps were god awful.

I will agree with that, a little more padding in the shoulder straps would certainly be welcome. I used a kuiu venture all last season and had no complaints.

Imitation and innovation. Some consumers hate it. Some love it. Timber Ninja has some amazing carbon fiber sticks. He also has new standoffs coming out because he listens to feedback. Latitude is now coming out with carbon sticks. They are just taking pre order money to make them. Either way, it will be another option in the industry. Teathrd will drop their new ultralight stick as well, and we will all figure out which one we like for our own reasons just like the saddle itself. Overall though, it appears the weight savings innovation is driving the entire process. I see this as a win for everyone but at the cost of more money being spent per ounce of weight savings. If it were me, I would analyze how far you really walk each hunt with your gear versus the price of carbon everything. Meaning, maybe, that extra $30 a month should go to the gym and not to saving five ounces on a platform you use fifty times or so a year.

Actually they are not taking preorder money to make the sticks right now. Just buying a 20 dollar gift card to get a place in line when they are released. So not a bad deal compared to some other companies. That you pay for the whole purchase then wait for months to receive what you bought.

Not that I'm disagreeing...but Kifaru has 25% off sales just as often if not more than Kuiu. So, apples to apples, it's a slightly different story. Not to mention your 1/3 less includes an additional 15% code that you had, so someone trying to get a similar deal should set themself up for that kind of bargain.

A better discussion is which is better, why, and under what circumstances if that is a factor.

I picked up a exo 4800 bro edition about a month ago. They had a blemish sale on first lite cipher packs. 125 off on packs and 50 off on bags only. The stretch material shading was off from the main bag. Sweet pack for the price. They sold out pretty quick.

Yeah, I didn't see that they offset the $20 line privilege with a gift card when I initially posted  . It's really not that big a deal.

Still it's a peep show with a verbal description behind the slot. lol.

Sounds like you got a great deal. I'm on their mailing list but missed that one.

I like how exo's frame expands. This is an advantage for the average whitetail hunter imo. Well made kit. The $584.99 retail isn't too bad; Kuiu's smallest kit is $519. Close enough for me to pick the one I want rather than price shop.

I've a Kuiu suspension and almost bought the frame and bag for about $255on sale, pretty good deal, but I got the Kifaru setup during Black Friday last year so I passed. I wanted to try a Wood Hunting Saddle saddle, so the money was earmarked.

For any of these packs, shopping the sales is the smart move.

Yeah the price difference isn't much. Especially when you hit the sales right. I always wanted a exo pack so it was a no brainer for me. I am gonna pick up a 1800 bag later on for it also for early on when I don't have to carry much. Gotta do some playing around. I am thinking about taking my backpack straps off my beast stand then connect stand right to the frame with the straps for meat hauling.

Alot of good packs out there. I think alot of guys miss out not having the ability to pack out half the deer or so on the first trip out. Beats dragging one any day.

How are you coming up with $1000 a pack?

I could see if you paid regular retail and got more than just the frame and pack. A tactical frame is $455+ Stryker $310(22 mag $313). Mc would be more obviously. That’s about $765 pre tax and shipping. If you bought a Sherman for abou $110 and a couple pouches there is your $1000.

Can't you attach a shape charge to a Kifaru frame with the more padded straps for heavy loads, and then detach it for a light stalking pack?

right, you have to add extra ****. It's not $1000 for a pack.

The shapecharge is heavy as it is. That would be over 10lbs in just pack…lol

I won’t order anything but multicam from them it’s better quality. Mag 22, frame and 2 belt pouches…. $978.03 shipped

Wasn't your shape charge Ranger Green? Anyway, doesn't matter.

Yeah, this math isn't right either, unless you're adding stuff. But again, does't matter.

I don't think the shapecharge is a good buy either.
