New Gear Release 2022!

I totally missed this, I’ve been waiting to see how the saddle platform turned out. Looks like a solid offering! EDP ish size but not cast, another great option. Can y’all remember less than 5 years ago we were picking apart stuff & DIYing all these solutions (some were super sketchy) now you have multiple manufactured options for any preference!!!!!!!!!

I have owned almost every piece of lwcg gear and am down to a .5 and 1.0 w 8 minis after selling the remainder. These two setups are ideal for mobile sticks and stands… actually the best I’ve tried. I really liked the kunhert but it was more platform than I needed. Despite love of the brand I’m developing some purchase maturity (if you will) and just wondering where the innovation is here. I’ll pay the most for the best if it fits my needs. I like this thing, and the idea of a climber on another note, but am not spending to spend. What am I missing here? 3.5lb standard platform? The biggest pitch to me is my sticks will peg into it. I guess I hoped for more.

I was having this very thought while on the hard water today. When I joined SH.com in the Spring of 2018 Tethrd was still a fireside dream and there were no commercially available saddle platforms on the market. Now we have:
Tethrd Predator
Tethrd Predator XL
Tethrd Vader
OOAL Podium
OOAL Ridge Runner
OOAL Ridge Runner XL
OOAL Scout flat
OOAL Scout angled
OOAL Monarch flat
OOAL Monarch angled
OOAL Rut Roost
OOAL unnamed new platform
Trophyline Mission
Trophyline EDP
Trophyline Wingman
Treehopper TreeSuit
Treehopper Crotch Rocket
LWCG Kuhnert's Ambush
LWCG The Fix
Wild Edge Perch
Wild Edge Battlement
Cruzr Seeker
Cruzr Seeker Mini
Hawk Apex
Hawk HSP
EWO UP
XOP Edge
Latitude no name (winged)
Latitude no name (regular)
Chippewa Falcon
Barren Ridge Ascent-O2

Did I miss any?

31 platforms from 13 companies.

There were also no commercially available steps that I know of at that time (besides WE steps and Primal steps). Now:
EWO Squirrel Steps
Treehopper Steps
Bullman Silent Approach
Bullman Pioneer
Hawk Monkey Bars
Hang N 30 steps

Did I miss any?

Maybe someone should list all the new sticks that have emerged in the last 4 years.

Wild times.

I’m less concerned with the weight, but just that it’s another option & not cast. I too felt the ambush was just a bit bigger than I preferred. It’s not earth shattering just another option when there used to be none

Heard Beast is coming out with a saddle platform.

Agreed. I also think the integrated molle hook is a nice feature for those that climb with their platform ready to deploy that way. Not earth shattering. Just a good feature.

Just to nit-pick, the OOAL Scout comes flat or slanted. I only make the distinction because I own both. :tearsofjoy:

Actually this list depresses me a bit because I own at least one of a lot of these platforms and used only the EDP over 78 sits this season . . .

So does the monarch that’s not even on the list…

The UP will shortly come in flat also.

I think we are at the point of diminishing returns with some of this stuff, I would be willing to bet the next big thing will be semi custom tree stands/platforms, where you pick seat height, size, a whole bunch of things with crazy prices and long wait times to be the norm, it’s exactly like that with custom rifles, people spend $5k on a rifle when a $400 Savage will do the same thing, I guarantee this market is headed in the same direction, some people will spend whatever it takes to get exactly just what they want and honestly I can’t blame them if the funds are available.

Not to get away from saddles and platforms, what you all thinking of this new sight offering from Dialed Archery? I'm a self-admitted sight junkie and this thing does have a lot of very advanced features and materials. But at $525.... Yikes. I might as well have a range finding sight for that.

I'm really impressed with the concept. My only concern would be water resistance. I seem to spend an awful lot of time hanging in the rain throughout the course of a season. I used to hunt using a pistol red dot before I went to the EZ-V. I went through several of them, they never worked right after a good soaking. Hence the move to something completely electronic free.

Saw some video of ATA2022 of an Elevate stand? Look, I'm all for free market and small businesses. If it end up to be a big hit, I'll gladly admit I'm wrong and congratulate them on taking risk and succeeding. But I just don't see how they found funding for this or who are they marketed to. $450 for a 10lbs stand. I do REALLY like how low the cables are, I don't see why LWCG can't make their cables that low, because that was my only complaint about the .5 (don't have one, but tried it out before).
