New to the whole saddle approach of hunting. I always used lock ons or climbers but as a power lineman this should prove to be a pretty easy non climbing stand option. Thanks for all the info/posts you all have up on here. The info is very helpful.

Welcome from Maine! You gonna use spurs for your climbing method or do you hunt where they are forbidden?
The gaffs we use for poles are shorter than arborists gaffs but having said that they would probably work. The ones I have for work are also pretty noisy metal to metal. I’m also fairly certain it’s not legal to marr up trees on our public land areas. I’ll just carry in sticks, there’s no long walks in this small state.

There are some long walks around here. Not many make them, but we have them.
