Welcome from Minnesota!
I cant make this Saturday but I would like the try the sit and drag too. Do you by any chance hunt on Bragg? That is not far from me indeed. Btw, I do have a sit drag if you want to try it out. We could easily meet up at the Sandhills Game Land. There is a campground with plenty of straight pine trees to practice. Let me know if you're interested. I'm planning to be out there this Saturday in the morning for dove hunting before the heat/humidity is too much. However, can easily skip the dove hunting for some gathering and exchange of ideas.
Awesome! I’m still trying to feel my way through things. There are couple of local guys that have offers to let me try theirs out, I just to adjust my schedule and meet up them.Welcome from GA! I only beat you to this site by about a week so I'm feeling my way through this too. Got a saddle, tether and a climbing method now. Still working out the kinks but this method seems to be what I've always been looking for but never found till now. And it's fun
Is that because of size, shape, limbs or something else?I think the saddle opens up lots of trees I'd pass on with my hang on stand

No doubt it seems like a great group of folks hereI also had folks willing to meet up and walk me through things. Great bunch of folks here.
Never done it. Is it open to the public?I cant make this Saturday but I would like the try the sit and drag too. Do you by any chance hunt on Bragg?
I try to get up in trees with lots of cover and the saddle i can get in smaller openings and not have to worry about finding that 24-36 inch piece of trunk that's limb free and vertical. Is that because of size, shape, limbs or something else?
It is. You have to purchase an annual permit $40 for hunting, and attend the Fort Bragg hunters orientation class. It last about 45 minutes, you watch a video and they show you how to sign out/in. You have to creat an account on bragg isportsman.com, it’s not as bad as it sounds. It an be good or bad depending on who you ask but there are definitely some big deer there.Never done it. Is it open to the public?
Gotcha now I’m m starting to understand what you guys mean when you say that.I try to get up in trees with lots of cover and the saddle i can get in smaller openings and not have to worry about finding that 24-36 inch piece of trunk that's limb free and vertical.
