First post forgot to mention my state.
im a trad archer and will be after blacktails in NW Oregon. I saw a couple of Washington guys any Oregon folks?

Welcome from Alabama. My wife is from Salem, OR. I’m hoping to hunt out there one day.

Elk and Blacktails out there someday. Beautiful country!!
 
Welcome from Michigan! I hear those Black tails are more skidish than whitetails.
 
If your wife is from Salem then you must be a lucky guy because the gals from Salem are all good looking!
 
Never hunted a white tail but several of my friends have hunted both and they confirm blacktails much tougher to hunt.
 
I call it the temperate rain forest jungle and it is thick In places. Literally almost stepped on a blacktail buck once...but that is unusual!
