I love the saddle and got my first deer out of it a couple days ago. I use a kite and lwhc. Climbing is frustratingly sliw tho. I was thinking about climbing with my lone wolf assault climber and using my regular hss harnes. If i feel like sitting, i do per normal with my tether attached to shock strap if harness. If i want to saddle it, i pull out my other tether and hook up to the lineman loops. I could even flip the seat to other side of tree for another platform.
My feet start to hurt when in saddle too long and my butt hurts when in climber too long. This way i could easily do both as i want to and i think all day sits would become easier. I have a bow holder on foot portion of climber so that wouldnt involve a switch. Thoughts?

Sounds to me like you'll be missing out on one of the major benefits of saddle hunting. That is LESS weight to carry. You want to carry a climber and your saddle gear? I would suggest sticking with saddle and finding a solution to your foot discomfort. Better boots? Better platform or ROS? The whole idea is keeping it to the minimum to stay mobile. But whatever it takes for you to enjoy being in a tree is ok.

I wouldnt technically be in a saddle anymore as i would be in a full body harness. Wiuld go from a 4lb setup to 14lb. I see your point tho. Comfort keeps me in the timber so im always trying to boost it

For foot pain, a stiffer soled boot is a great solution! I had the same problem when I first started and bought some lace up boots and man did it make a difference. Also, being in "Saddle shape" makes a HUGE difference. When your body has adjusted to the pressured of a saddle and standing, it make sit much easier.

I find that I struggle with comfort no matter what I hunt with. I always end up switching up positions pretty regularly.

I hunted my lw assault climber tonight for the first time this year. My lower back started bothering me quickly. I thought “hmm, dont feel this pain in the saddle”
I guess the pressure moves around haha

During a long sit you will eventually feel discomfort somewhere. I made a diy battle belt harness with an adjustable strap in the middle of the saddle to move pressure points, super comfortable for up to 6 hrs, after that My feet, butt, neck and most importantly my pride hurt!!

You got pics of your setup? Been contemplating this idea

I found the same thing. It's based off of being able to adjust the weight so much in a saddle. I can stand and have virtually no weight on saddle, lean and split the weight between saddle/feet, then I can sit and have basically no pressure on my feet. I am a leaner 90* of the time. When I lean, it's typically straight legged with most of my weight on my saddle. When that becomes uncomfortable I will bend my knees and lean into the tree for a few minutes and then go back to pretty much standing.

The bottom line is you have to find what's comfortable to you and since becoming more efficient with my saddle, I don't like a stand near as much.

Same here. When I first tried a saddle years ago it was rubber boots on screw in steps. My feet killed me. Now I have a diy saddle and platform, no more foot issues, and no need to swing around the tree like Tarzan for a shot.

Is this a DIY saddle? looks awesome either way. Do the vertical straps work well?

@swampsnyper here ya go.
Yessir I made it a month or so ago, I just bought a merlin to try out, but I cant force myself to switch, the battle belt saddle is so comfortable. The vertical straps do not do a lot, I just wanted to be able to lower the saddle, but it pivots well enough that I dont have to mess with the vertical sliders, but I can still separate the pieces to replace the battle belt when it is time.
