Built a new platform with a 30 degree angle footrest. Weighs in
at 4.8#. without strap. Material cost $7.
Rock solid with cam over attachment to tree.
This will be my go to platform really like it.

I like the anled design. Depending on your weight, you could get away with 1/2" tubing and cut some weight. 1/2" has really impressed me but im 185#.

I like it! Especially the angle design since I'm usually standing on the very edge of my platform to get that type of angle.
 
I was trying to design something like this myself after building a Tree-suit copycat after seeing the older thread @Nutterbuster put up. I like this better than what I was coming up with.

Did you notice any flex when standing on the angled area, especially if out on the edge? I hadn't thought of a flat and angled platform combo- I was doing a full angled platform., but wonder if the leverage if being on the outer edge would cause any issue on the angle or attachment to the support legs.
 
I was on it quite a bit today. I am using 7/64 amsteel daisy chain for hook up. It is solid. You really don't have alot of weight on it when using the angle, side pressure doesn't move it at all. I'm liking it alot.
