New Saddle hunter looking to better conceal myself

Good post...I see a lot of fellas on here being too mobile with lackluster results most would be better off hunting areas they are familiar and keep a written log of all conditions until they got it figured out...as far as staying more concealed in bare trees I just ROS and stay close to the tree as possible and stay still as possible
I fully agree. Keep a log. It will help it the long run and help for future hunts.

I was hunting smaller pines this year. I am a sitter when it comes to saddles. I attach my bag to the tree where it Hangs so that the bag hides my legs/ feet and some of my body. Rifle is on a different hook opposite side. Both deer I shot this year didn’t know I was there. One was at less then 20 feet and walking towards me.

Watch how the shadows move through your spot. You can get away with being a little exposed as long as you're not casting a shadow 25 yards away. Movement will get you busted more than just where you hang, and a shadow moving on the ground will get you busted even when a deer's head is down feeding.
