looking to get new saddle what do you prefer for waist amsteel or buckle and for leg strap g hook or buckle tks for any input

Rope belt. Use to want leg buckles. But I have chilled some and okay with G-hooks.

I prefer weight rated buckles on both the waist and leg straps however I’ve used g hooks with no issues on the leg straps. I’m not a fan of rope belts for a couple reasons- one is that it doesn’t open, the other is that rope is thin and would be a danger of cutting into your skin or torso should a fall occur. With a wider webbing you are much less likely to worry about laceration if a dynamic event occurs. I am not saying it’s a guarantee or unsafe, simply that I personally do not prefer rope for a waist belt.

Prefer buckle for both myself. Don’t mind rope for the waist but I see the issue in the event of a fall. I do not like G hoops for leg straps. Can never get them to stay on unless they’re the locking kind like Latitude uses. If they lock then they’re fine but they’re hard as crap to unhook if you want them to. So still buckles on leg straps wins for me.

Cobra buckles.

I don't like the ADF raptors. Alot of the "Made in USA" saddles use raptors because Cobras are a CA import and I just can't get them as quiet as I want and still be able to adjust them. I have one saddle with them and I use it for prepping trees.

Frame buckles are ok, you have to stealth strip them.

I like the rope belts but don't have one.

G hooks on leg straps are useless, make you feel better about having leg straps without really providing much safety. The locking ones are ok, I upgraded to those on my ESS, the stock ones fell all over the place.
