New tethrd climbing sticks.

Straight rip off with very few changes that I can see.

Except a different attachment method, post, the ability to move step spacing and attachment point anywhere you want, etc.

Oh, and will be available presumably. Seems like not a rip off, seeing as leverage sticks are not available.

It's the same exact post with some extra holes drilled down the stick, very slightly different step, and their rope cleat thing. This is just going by what I can see in the pic. I wonder what the price tag will be on them?

so anyone who made a climbing stick with 6061 square tubing after lone wolf came up with the idea should cease and Desist?

how sure are you it’s the “same post”?

doesn’t the extra holes, which generate a novel capability of changing to the exact step spacing you want, make it a different post? Or could you do that same thing with leverage sticks?

thanks for pointing out the different steps, I forgot that one.

I have no idea what they cost. Just pointing out some things that disagree with the gist of your post.

Lets DIY them.

Leverage stick post, drill holes
Amsteel rope mod
Helium steps
Helium suction cup

What has Tethrd brought to the table?

Signature spike on the end of the steps
Dynalock tab
Stacking pins
Bolt bumpers
Seemingly short standoff

They didn't make the Leverage stick...they made it better. They should dub them the "BASF"

I'm sure the nubs under/below/bottom of the standing surface of the step serves a purpose

Thats from Helium steps, tabs make them easier to open them from folded position.

Im just glad to see more innovators in the hunting industry. Gives me more options. Still like the packability of my lwcg compacts but these don't look too bad.

Is there another picture in the wild that I missed or are all these statements based on the pic in the OP?

This isn't innovation, it's rennovation.

Agree though, It is good for folks to have options.

No… these are spy shots. Who knows they might never make it to market…

Lol you just opened a can of worms. Kyler is writing you a 6 page rebuttal letter as we speak.
I think you make accurate comparisons to existing features. I wouldn’t say tethrd is ripping anyone off but I would definetly say they’re building on existing ideas. It’s always easier to improve existing designs then create new ones.

I agree fully with everything in the mentioned post. And like the joke to boot.

I just don't like peanut gallery mindless whining.

Plebe pointed out what I was getting to, but job, ya know. Take pieces of other's pie, put it in a pot, and then charge $100+ per stick. Seems you know all though. Carry on saddlehunter.com master....

It's mostly what they do, renovation.

How innovative is Tethrd, actually? They patented a Triangle.

Frankly, their actual innovations have often enough been somewhat problematic: Glue, Comfort balls, stacking pins. (Good in theory, poor execution unfortunately).

Not saying they're a bunch of dopes, just context for where they are at right now. As they further grow, I anticipate they'll have increased capacity for developing more novel stuff.

Thats not to say that in the meantime Tethrd hasn't brought products to the market that benefit hunters and the industry.

I think we can easily recognize that much of what they do has come from ideas organized here. Why would we not want that?

Yet, some of the property rights gamesmanship in the industry isn't great for keeping the bar moving, and Tethrd is caught up in that a bit too.

Not sure what I know and don’t know have to do with the topic at hand.

“Straight rip off”

is very different from

“several changes that I personally don’t feel move the needle enough to make me purchase them, or feel make their marketing strategy completely honest.

I don’t like the sticks. I’ve made my displeasure known for some of the antics of the company in question. Just seems like mindless piling on.

sorry if I misinterpreted a very starkly worded matter of opinion. Happy to reconsider in light of the new information you’ve provided…

Thanks. I’m not sure I could form an honest opinion based on that photo, but I can speculate along with everyone else.

I think it’s going to be like those cheap snap off knives at Home Depot. Buy stick. Adjust step distance. Snap off excess. No more of the multiple sizes to manufacture to please the vertically challenged. Boom! Money printer.
