When you order rope it bundles it all into 1 length. So when you buy it at 20’ you can message them at doublesteps after the order and request the rope be cut in half. He will cut it and seal up the ends so you don’t have to.

Any preferences between the Versa straps or Amsteel daisy chain for rope mod on Hawk Helium steps? I’m getting ready to make a purchase at Tethrd with the 10% off so looking for excuses to buy more stuff. Lol
 
Are the carabiners from Tethrd anything special? I guess I’m asking are they worth it or are there better options elsewhere? Will be using with Ropeman 1.

I have the same problem lol. Can’t really help ya on this one. Haven’t tried. Just last night I decided to order an EWO stick and added a daisy chain rope to the order. Will be interesting to see how that works.

I don’t think there’s anything special about them, other than the Tethrd logo engraved on it, if they have that. There’s nothing wrong with them I don’t think but I think there are better ones out there. Brands like Petzl and DMM are among the top brands used by climbers, rock climbers, etc. I got a couple recently and I’m really impressed with them. Much higher weight ratings than what you normally find with the saddle companies lately.

I’m not a huge fan of daisy chain stuff. Always seems to be in the middle of a loop.

Alternative Method for Platform Attachment

As I've previously stated, I'm not a big fan of the cam buckle straps supplied with most of the current saddle platforms for attachment to the tree. The buckle feels big and bulky to me and, worse yet I always seem to clank it off the metal platform at the most inopportune times. For the last...

Or just simple amsteel rope mode. Where you wrap around the versa button and then tie it with a couple half hitches.

I figured but noticed it said they work well with Ropeman 1 so I thought maybe they were more tailored for it. Any links to similar ones on Amazon or elsewhere? Should they be rounded, tubular design or are the flat ones ok?

Is there a coupon code for Backwoods for the 10%?
 
Just saw OOAL has a 15% discount so I jumped on the ridge runner
 
I didn’t have a problem with round or flat. Round is probably better. And not too big carabiner or barely fits in the holes.

Backwoods is a 15% too I was wrong.

Well, spent 12 hours at work today and managed to spend about $700 on 3 different sites throwing my setup together. Wife will be happy I’m not harassing her about what should I buy?...until she sees the Bank statement . I still have a few things to buy but this should at least get me started. And I already had purchased the 20” Hawks. Now to impatiently await for my goodies. I went with the Tethrd Phantom. I was torn between either it or the Aerohunter Kestrel flex but the difference in lead time helped make up this boys mind.

The Phantom, a Ridge Runner, 2 ropemans, accessories from Tethrd, SYS haulers, HYS strap, Versa strap, 2 Caribiners, rope for tether and lineman’s, some Sbiners and plastic carabiners for hanging...hell, I was on a roll, I even bought a gear grappler. Lol
 
Can I get some suggestions on a good backpack? I have a couple now, cheaper ones but I’d like to hear some ideas and opinions.

Nice! On a roll indeed. I got a gear grappler too actually lol. Little thing is awesome. Will be nice to pick up whatever on the ground without having to go all the way back down.
