What type of nocking point do prefer for your bow, brass or tied? Do you tie or crimp nocking points both above and below the nocking point? If you tie your nocking point, what type of string or serving do you use (thickness & material)? What type of nock do you tie? Pictures would be awesome!

Only been doing this a short while but I've come to like a tied on nock. A brass nock left a mark on my face a few times when I didn't have consistent form so I tied two on (top and bottom) but I found I couldn't get the right width between them. Stopped trying on the bottom one when I got a new strings and it has made no appreciable difference in flight.

The original knot I used came from a Clay Hayes video (some kind of self-constricting knot). It worked ok. This last time I tied simple overhand knots on alternating sides of the string. Seems to be more effective in that it creates a larger blob. I finished it up with a dab of superglue on it where the knot contacts the serving and it never moves.

Did you tie the adjustable or fixed? I've always used brass but wanna try that adjustable one when tuning

Tied on adjustable above and below. Once dialed, can use a dab of super glue to lock in. I do check periodically though. I leave maybe 1/16" space so there is not pinch at full draw. With this, you could also use a third tie on below for fixed crawl if you wanted to do that.

Yep tie on I do a nail knot a lot cleaner and very adjustable crimp on digs to much in side of my finger specially since I shoot bare fingers. @Red Beard pic shows the perfect thread to use granted you can use just about anything but that’s the one I perfer

Yeah I tie on my nocks as well. I use a simple 10 knot that Redbeard explains. I tie on a D-loop and it is good to go. Easy to adjust by simply twisting the D-loop and nock.

Sorry, didn't see this was in the trade section until after I posted.

I didn’t know they made nock specific string. I had already bought some kind of serving string. I guess I’ll see how it does.

I just tie on a nock with regular serving material. Once in the right spot I lock in with a drop of super glue. Had brass at one point but it kept wearing a spot on my glove.

I tie one on top and bottom. I use alternating overhand knots like @Red Beard. Only difference is I just use a short price of string material because I have it on hand. Current nocking points are tied on with 8125.

I do it like the link below and use the same diameter as the serving on my string. If you go smaller than the diameter of your serving it bites in too much and isn’t adjustable. If you go bigger it tends to slip. I always do a top and bottom nocking point. There is a reason top target archers use them.

I recently went back to a brass nock because I kept having my tied nock point split my serving. No matter if I used a nail knot or constrictor knot. So far I like the brass nock.
