Noobie Question

Hey Guys,

I am just getting into this and have a few questions about the Tether. I have a few normal safety harness's from some of the treestands I currently have, they both come with linemens belt and one is like 20ft long. Could I use that as my tether? Rope is thick (might be thick enough) to use as a tether but I am not really sure. I figure if they sent it as a linemens belt or a safety tether its adequate to use as a tether. Sorry for the dumb question!

I was in the same boat. I was basically told to use your own judgement on whether or not it’s safe. Mine were in great condition, had never been used and protected from the elements. So I decided to make them work. I cut down mine to the length I needed and made a lineman’s belt out of it and the rope I used as a a tether already had a loop in the end of it and was the length was adequate.

I'm using the safety lines that came with a summit ladder stand and have had no problems.
