If anyone want to shoot a bear in the north Georgia mountains let me know they seem to be everywhere this year. 706-994-6844 or directscenes@gmail.com

Did you end up filling a bear tag this year? Public or private land? Jw

I can definitely get with you next season, if offer still available!
I have been researching where to hunt black bears for the 2020/2021 season. As a first time bear hunting adventure I am needing all the help I can find! We only get 2 weeks in S. Ga to hunt bears, and I have not found any sign yet. I would love to harvest one! Any information on where I should research some Wmas would be appreciated. TIA

Bears are hard to hunt without baiting them in my experience. I had them thick on my old place and only ever had two opportunities.

Why Georgia? Virginia is full of em.

Can you run dogs or bait in VA? I love watching the untamed's bear hunting with dogs YouTube videos, they're from WVA.

There's all kinds of bears in Ga, only up north though. I've seen one every year on archery opener.

Yea boy they run the snot out of em with dogs. Been having a late September early season then they hunt the firenout of them with dogs in December too. Can kill them all of bow and 1.week with a smoke pole. Always bear damage permits gave out here in August and September to to shoot them in the day and night with thermal or spotlights. Traveling for bears out of state when you live in VA is isnt worth it

Dang that sounds fun. We have such a good bear population, but for whatever reason the regs are super strict with them. Anytime you kill one you have to take it to a biologist office within 3 days for them to pull a tooth and check it in. They've been known to ask you to show them where you killed it and look for bait, birdhouses, etc. Thats the main reason most people let them walk.

We do have a long season though, this year you can kill 2 in GA between Sept 12 and Jan 10

Yea we got to pull teeth from them. Just last year they made it legal to pack them out finally. They aint bad eatin if kill them early.....They are worthless animals though. I hate them and it wouldn't hurt feelings if they killed them all.

I'm planning a camping/fishing/hunting trip up to North Georgia this year. Should be fun

You already have a place in mind? Im a resident north georgian and im into all of the above.

If you come up early for a scouting trip you should do some trout fishing, the dnr posts a stocking report on thursdays (or friday) every week of creeks they stock, usually pretty good fishing

Yea, been dropping pins on a WMA and NF for about 6 months now lol. I was actually planning on going up in March or April but the corona messed that trip up. Gonna try to go up the end of august and scout, fish and maybe pig hunt if I find sign. I signed up for the weekly stocking report so I'm gonna try to hit some of those streams up

Illegal to bait bears in VA. Eastern VA allows anything to be run by dogs regardless of who owns the property.
