Not sure how I feel about this.

I was out this morning and figured I might as well pull some cards as long as I was in the area. Got home and found this picture. This poor fella has what I’m 99% sure is an arrow sticking out of him. I have no idea who shot him or how far away it all went down, but I do know there isn’t a person on my camera trailing him. Hopefully he makes it and hopefully whoever flung this arrow at him isn’t a giant douche. I know **** happens but damn.

This is near the top of my ‘things I wasn’t expecting to see on camera’ list. Also it’s a picture of a paused video on my computer because I’m not fluent in computer and I don’t have the patience to figure out how to get it on my phone or post this from my computer.

If that makes you feel some negative emotion for longer than about two seconds, hunting might not be the hobby for you.

As a group(you’re a part of it), we probably wound more animals than we kill. It’s just a fact.

sucks, but somehow attaching moral responsibility to a person you don’t know, about a scenario you know nothing about, won’t get you anywhere.

we shoot sharp sticks at live animals. Lots of consequences to that choice.

Did you get more then one picture? Cause I've had cameras pick up bugs and do to shutter speed it makes them look like that . Could be possible it's just crazy coincidence or something making it look like that . If not then that's more like a broom stick instead of an arrow .

Going to have to disagree with these statements, now killing him making a good story, absolutely!

It’s actually a video. I just paused it and took a picture. There is without a doubt something in him. Could be someone chucking brooms out there, that would be something to get on camera!

Dang man never mind then . That's brutal . Hopefully by some luck it'll fall out and heal up . Deer are crazy tough but that's still awful

Looks like a camera glitch. He was scratching him self.. looks like a hoof. The legs are all messed up on the photo.

Deer getting shot through the backstraps is a pretty common thing. In my experience most will survive but some will get infected and die. I am confident that whoever let that arrow fly was not hoping or trying for that outcome but it is part of archery hunting. Hopefully you can get him.

I can understand being disappointed. If indeed it's an arrow, probably the hunter who released it is very disappointed. Could be really heartsick. I think we can all share some disappointment in that outcome.

However, if there's no reason to think the arrow was carelessly flung at the deer, I wouldn't get overly upset at the hunter or think they didn't put an effort into recovery. That would be a hit that could be difficult for a hunter to catch up to, no?
