Novix tree stand!

This is about the only competition. But it weighs more than advertised and needs a batwing and stuff to make it work like most people like. I wanted to like the m7 but it's just not great in my opinion

I can respect that. I think they are both “good” stands. Neither is great. Both are just pretty great.

With IMO negligible weight difference, the M7 as is competes in mobility, and offers some unique features the HELO doesn’t.

The HELO offers some advantages to the M7, too.

Beyond the stands, I really like Novix/Trophyline’s support of Mil/Vet/1st Responders.

Agree their customer service is exceptional.

What don’t you like about it?
It’s alright at the price point it’s hitting. I just have other stuff that I like better. The biggest focus of the Helo is mobile hang on at a lower price point than the top shelf stuff. I didn’t anticipate keeping it when I ordered it but thought it was worth at least getting my hands on. If top shelf is in a mans budget he should go that route. If not, the Helo might make the best option for them.

The chippewa wedgeloc ghost is in there as well.....$285, 10lbs....

I almost brought that one up, but thought its $285 pricepoint and small platform are perhaps outclassed by the HELO.

But, I've always thought the wedge-loc system is cool, and I hear its like totally solid.

Mine came in today. I hung it a few times on a tree, just playing around with it. I actually like it better than the Assaults I’ve owned. It’s a little lighter, but the main thing to me, and I didn’t think about it until I hung it, was being 3.5” narrower than the assault, made it seem effortless to hang compared to the assault. The assault is by no means hard, but I preferred using the ez hang hook with the assault.

The Helo is setup to use the ez hang hook as well, but it hung as easy as a large saddle hunting platform or the lwcg .5. That 16” wide platform is also very nice and streamline on the back. I didn’t realize how much 3.5” made as far as bulk goes on the back. Feels much more lighter than it really is compared to the assault. Has a good size V and cammed great. I just used 1 strap and was solid without a hint of kick out.

I’ve never owned the lwcg 1.0 or beast stand, but I like the Helo way more than the 2 .5s I’ve owned...I tried hard to like the .5, just not comfortable at all to me. I’m going to order another, just to have, since it’s just $204 tmd right now.

I use 2 lwcg minis with cable aides on both. They attached to the platform nicely using the J-hook. I wished the seat locked in like a shelf, but I’m nitpicking now. I’ve owned a few different “mobile” hang ons and as of right now, I would rate this up towards the top for me.

  1. Helo
  2. LW Assault II
  3. LW Assault
  4. Millennium M7 Microlight
  5. LWCG .5
  6. Loc on Limit

Got mine in today. Very solid stand. For $204 shipped I can’t complain. I will take this over the beast stand any day.
What didn’t you like about the Beast stand that would make you say that? I’m curious

It cost me $645.

It flexed more than anything I have ever stood on.

It is absolutely terrible trying to cam on thick bark trees and mediocre at best on everything else.

The seat is a piece of crap. It’s was all tore up on first use.

Offset bracket creaks and pops on most trees. Toe hooking doesnt help.

Hmmm… I might have to just sell my assault ii and hush. The money saved over the weight gained from the Hush is driving me closer to putting up some ads
