Novix tree stand!

If I like how the V cams down better on the Helo than my 8.5 assault, then I’m going to switch the seats and put the lighter/smaller seat on the helo

That’s all I got in mind for mods

I’ll be doing the same thing. I am interested to see what the overall weight will be with that mod a one strap.

Is there a safety concern with that?
I would think that stress fracturing due to the bending moment you could be creating by placing it on the outside would be your biggest concern. Secondary concern there may be would be where you may bend your swage on your cable. If you bend it and somehow loosen it you could be sacrificing its strength. I don’t know the cable size or type of swage or material so I could only guess how weak or strong they are.
Neither may have any merit for concern but it’s hard to know without analysis or better yet some good ole fashioned destructive testing. Failures that I envision would take years of use to propagate but would likely give way without warning once they reach that point. Would be crazy to me not to wear a fall rated harness in a hang on though.

flipped mine on my 1.0 didn’t have any adverse effects. Now they come like that.

I jumped up and down on it and put it through lot more abuse than I do the beast stand. It didnt bend the beast stand did.

platform looks huge! you're toes aren't hanging on off the end like my windwalker....geez...might as well have a beer up there in that lazy boy!

those are size 13 brooks ghosts. Plenty of room up there.

Food for thought. Thanks.

Probably ok for the one year rental and off to classifieds crowd. :)

How is it setting up on a tree?Do you think it's easier than the Assault 2? Is the V on the base better than the Assault 2?

I think it’s super easy setting on the tree and solid. I haven’t fondled an assault II in about 4 years. Width might make it easier to hang.

Here you go, just rigged this up. You could do it with some cordage and a plastic carabiner if you don’t have webbing, sewing machine and buckles. I used 3/4” webbing and buckles.

I like this mod, and will be trying it. i dont have the helo yet so I'm ahead of myself again. But if you really wanted to make the profile smaller maybe.... If using J hooks to hold your stix to the stand how about welding a T on it. Making it a T on one side a J on the other. Use the plastic knob and J to hold your stix to stand then use the T and plastic knob to hold the /offset bracket. T on the bracket side knob on the front side. I cant draw on here but weld a 1/4 by 1.5 inch rod a couple inches below the threds on the back of the J. Take your stix of then the use the same J/T hook to hold on your V/Offsset bracket. Squirrels idea will work for me, but I got to put that J hook somewhere after I take off the stix (maybe) use it to hold the bracket. Would have to get some practice in the dark. Thoughts??
