Number of aider steps

I rock a 4 step aider with 15” steps from back woods mobile gear. I only use the 4th step at ground level. I set my 15” one stick as high as I can, about 7’. With a 3 step I was having reach pretty high to get the bottom step. The forth step just makes it it easier, less strain and effort. When I make a move to advance the stick, it’s the 3rd step. It’s nice to have options. Especially if the tree is on a hill and you are on the low side. I think the key is comfort, whatever you use you should not have to strain and work to use it.
