Nutterbuster and Scooby-Doo

My wife just bought an Outback and we love it. Good MPG, goes great in the snow, surprisingly roomy inside, manual mode with paddle shifters is cool, and easy to change oil. Hey look at that, filter right up top and easy to get to...

FYI - The oil plug is recessed, but the transmission fluid plug is in plain view when you crawl up underneath. MAKE SURE YOU KNOW WHICH ONE IS WHICH! o_O

The Subaru dealership said the crosstrek is an Impreza hatchback with a lift kit. I thought they were way too small. I told my wife that it wouldn’t hold enough duck decoys for me. I did hear that in 2021 that they will come standard with the 2.5L.

I think what he meant to say, was...

"In Alabama we get dressed, then crank the truck, then go inside and brush our tooth while the truck warms up."

:tearsofjoy:
Number one pickup line in Alabama. "Hey baby, nice tooth."

Also, why do all the trees in Alabama lean to the west? Because Mississippi sucks and Georgia blows.

I had a nice little romp in the forester this morning. I-44 was shut down because of an accident so I gladly

took back roads.

I have at least 15 years until retirement but have already started researching southern states with the best hunting options. As soon as the rut is done here it will be time to head south. I may be jumping the gun a little but when it doesn’t get above 0 for a week you have time to research just about everything.

Come on south. You can show me how to shovel the foot of snow from my driveway today! Better hurry, we are in currently getting another 10” right now!!!

Shoveling is for shmucks...That's what ATV plows are for... And if your leaf cleanup situation is extreme like mine, the plow pulls double duty...

I do envy you southerners at times. The wife and I already bought what was supposed to be our retirement place in VA but, the older we get the more we wonder if that's far enough south.

I think you will like it up there. I would stay up there if I were you.

Was scrolling through some old pics and came across one from 2019 that would make a great Subaru commercial...

@Nutterbuster - Thanks for this thread!

I'll graduate from Navy Chaplains School in 10 days (April 20). Then I'll fly back to Cincinnati and buy a vehicle. I'll probably take the first good deal I find on either a Subaru Outback or Forester. Last week, a mechanic buddy of mine declared the frame of my F150 unsafe due to rust.
So I have to buy something. And it roadworthy. I'll be driving it down to Gulfport MS. I don't need any mechanical issues on the way.

So, I'd appreciate your thoughts about:
1. What is the best way to get rid of my truck? I'm thinking about selling it to a scrap yard for recycling.
2. Outback or Forester? Which one has more room for sleeping in it?
Thanks guys!

i cant speak to the new SUV style outbacks, but my wagon one, i cannot lay down in the back comfortably without modding the back. the seats lay down but dont lay all the way flat, and laying down is tough because the seat when laying down is slightly shorter than what would be comfortable for me. i have seen some videos on youtube on how to modify your outback for camping in though, and they are pretty sweet when a wooden bed platform is made for the back\

I'm 6'0" and about 200. I'll check YouTube. I'm also considering getting one of those roof top tents. Thanks!
