I was kinda bummed about the lack of bears. We drove all over looking for them, and then saw one that got hit by a car once we made it back to Alabama. :/

Wife had never seen an elk though, and I was 100% not expecting them. That was cool. But I wanted to show her some bears.

Woof.

When I was in the Navy I had a 6 month school in Upstate, NY. It started Feb 10th......first morning I woke up it was 27° below friggin zero......thought I was gonna die. To make matters worse I was doing the SC truck warming maneuver of running outside in your underwear to crank the truck when I noticed I had made a gigantic error.

Lol. My dad was COE and went through basic in Leanardwood. When we drove out west we made a special stop nearby to dump the waste dank on the RV. He said he got so cold one night the only reason he didn't start walking back to Alabama was because it was overcast and he had no idea which way was south.

Hahahahahaa!!!!

I will be plagiarizing that line going forward

I was born and bred in SC so I’m familiar with that maneuver. It’s a different story here. I just went out to see if my shop lights would slide under my scooby. In the AM I’m running the shop lights, a chicken coop heater on the block, and a battery charger on the battery! Three cheers for redneck ingenuity!

Most of them this time of year and denned up in hollow trees in the park. They don’t fully hibernate but partially do. You should go back in the spring or fall, bears abound!

Nutter. I have an 2018 cross trek. Love this little beast. Got different tires. Went with falken wildpeak A/T 255/60r17. No noise. Quiet. And very stable. And the 2” receiver I got from etrailer. Couldn’t be happier bro. This car has taken my family from jersey to Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, Florida as a family of 4. No problems. Also did a Thule rack up top to put all the luggage. No regrets bud

I've been looking at the falken all terrain tires. Good tires and I think it would handle the swamp roads fine. Although my wife has said it's a black-top only vehicle until she's tired of it. ;)

I see some late-night and early morning fender washes in your future

What’s nice about these tires is that I didn’t have to change the rims. There’s no road noise difference. I’ve been very happy with them. They’re also rated for snow when you don’t need to have chains. When I would pheasant hunt and where it gets muddy I’ve had no issues. Good luck with whatever you choose

Great info. I have a 2011 ram 4x4. Its currently stuck in driveway in snow and im over it. Im seriously looking at a Suburu now that we have a new born as well to fit in back seat. How roomy is the driver seat? I am 6’5” and hate sitting with knees above my chest. Feels like a dog sliding his rear on the carpet as i go down the highway in rentals or ride in friends “cars”.
