Nutterbuster's Treehopper Recon Sling Video

I have a recon that is supposed to be delivered today. It’s a medium and I’m 5’10 175 32“x 32“ pants. I’m hoping to get out this afternoon if it shows up in time and give it a whirl. I’m currently running a size 2 kite which I really like and according to their sizing I should in a 1 so I’m hoping this is the same.
Probably not helpful but found this kind of funny so I’ll pass it on. My wife just asked what I was typing and when I explained she said it sounds exactly like women and bras.

You guys that are one sticking in the recon what position are your panels in while climbing and are u tightening waist belt and bridge down all the way ?

I keep the lower section at the bottom of my butt and the upper section in the lower back area. That works for me

I need a racer back, 32 A, pushup with extra padding I'd say.

with that waist size in a regular, you will been something to draw it in tight. i am 34-35" waist depending on breakfast and have to use a small bungee.

I guess I errored in not defining in relative terms what level of comfort I am requiring or needing in a saddle.
I am by anyone's definition a hard core hunter and accept discomfort and even suffering as part of hunting when there is realistically no other choice In my experience no other form of hunting will expose more quickly any physical sufferings or malities you have with your hips and back than turkey hunting
My children are utterly in awe when we are freezing our butts off in the early dark hours of public land spring turkey season when the temps are at or just barely above freezing I tell them we will have to dress for when the sun is up and the temps hit thier predicted 60's and tough it out being cold and miserable for 2-3 hours so we can as we always do have to spend the next 3-4 hours running and gunning as no way are we are all going fill all our tags with birds called in off the roost we have been sitting freezing in the dark for the last 90-120 minutes awaiting sun rise because remaining as still as a dead rock is of absolute importance when turkey hunting especially when your only 50-60 yards from multiple roosted toms jakes and hens again comfort is a factor especially for younger pre-teen hunters and when I began using fold up turkey hunting chairs the instances of us getting busted from our movement went to nearly zero yes turkey chairs are a bit if a PITA to carry but well worth it and any hassle is more than offset for the benefits they provide they have made a HUGE difference in especially in my comfort as well as the comfort of my boys and now they can remain so still my new problem is their falling asleep
As far as the comfort I am hoping to get in a saddle I am hoping a saddle will be at least moderately more comfortable than my hang on's that have very small seats and bare minimum padding and a saddle would be a level of comfort that will allow me to hunt as long as I need to including all day sits in one location or 1/2 day sits in two different locations or put another way more time spent hunting in a saddle than traveling to and from a location. I understand just like any and all other stand types, while hunting from a saddle I will undoubtedly have to occasionally reposition or adjust the saddle as needed my concern about comfort is I do not want to have to move any more often than I do when sitting on a hang on or ladder stand which isn't very much at all and I can not recall the last time I got busted while moving in my hang on or ladder stand.
Right now sun up to sun down sits in my hang on's are due to issues with both hips and my back although still entirely doable my discomfort has increased noticeably and I BS not one bit saying the discomfort is acceptable but its the increase in my movement it causes as I now need to fidget much more on stand to mange the discomfort I am more concerned about.
So basically I am asking what is the likelihood that the correct saddle will be at least moderately more comfortable for all day or half day sits than my hang on stands are

I hunted hang ons exclusively for about 30 years. About the final 10 of those years were full day hunts...dawn till dark.

About 10 years ago, I developed an issue of falling asleep on my hang on and it was becoming a dangerous problem. So I became a saddle convert. I bought an old Trophy Line and it was not good. Very uncomfortable.

Then the Kestrel came out and I decided to try again. It was much better but still not perfect. I discovered if I cinched the bridge on the loops it was very tolerable for all day hunts. I was pretty happy.

Then Mark asked me to brain storm and critique the reintroduction of the Anderson sling and I could not be happier with the Recon!
But even it needed a minor mod...the bungee belt.
I have absolutely zero discomfort in the Recon for a solid 8 hours and then the final 3 hours or so are more described as fatigue. But it's less fatigue than I would have in a hang on stand.

My biggest issue is my knees, not the saddle. I started using the "strap around the knees" trick and it pretty much solved knee fatigue.

Staying still in the tree when using a saddle is more a matter of discipline. Its just very easy to lose concentration on staying put. I catch myself moving but it's not due to discomfort, just a loss of focus.

Sounds to me like the right saddle will work for you. Its just a matter of figuring out which is the best one. Then experiment with tether height and bridge length.

And dont forget that you gotta have the right foot management system. It's huge towards being comfortable.
I will never go back to sitting on a seat.
