I ventured deep into a bedding area in the woods behind my house this afternoon. I placed a trail camera in there about 6 weeks ago. Most of the pictures were of young bucks, does and fawns. Just hours before I got to the camera, this guy walked through. I made a lot of noise making sure that any deer in the area knew I was coming to keep from spooking a bedded deer. I feel that if the deer know you are coming, they can choose to stay put or sneak out and avoid you and their confidence in their security cover remains intact. Come on October!!


 
Nice buck! All I have so far are does and fawns, with two small young spikes. The private land I have access to doesn't seem to hold the bucks until the ag fields are cut, so my first pull was disappointing, Hopefully the next pull will be better.
