Official Team 4 Discussion Thread

11 days off and have been out 1 time for a 3 hour sit. None of my blinds survived the heavy snow. Tried some duct tape and branches. Rain all day today. First ground blind collapsed on me while trying to salvage my evening hunt. Left there to go to my other one. Still raining. Finally get there, set up a scent trail, then carefully crawl in. Waterproof pants are not working.
Finally get everything set. I am soaked to the skin....mostly from sweat. Only been an hour and am getting cold. Wind is wrong but am hoping for anything. Not sure if I even want to replace these blinds for next year? Maybe I will set up some kind of roof over a couple of my pre-sets.
Oh well,
Go team !!

Dang! That sucks! I'm the same, kids always bring colds home from school and I always seem to get it too.

Never fails. I’m always the last in the house to get it... this year has been brutal. Everyone sick since thanksgiving. Everyone we spent holidays with had a hacker child or two. Then just got a text from my sister that 5 people at Xmas eve got flu and tested positive for influenza A. Yay.

Wow, that sucks. I was sick over the holidays a few years ago. Definitely makes the time less enjoyable. Hoping you feel better soon.

I got a hawk tree umbrella for Xmas from my wife. I only made it a few hours the first day of rifle this year because of the rain and then skipped the first Monday even though I had the day off. Being wet is miserable. I've never used a tree umbrella but have heard good things. We'll see.

Just got back. Was a great hunt. Wind was wrong but decided to take a chance. 4 does came in at 40 yards. When they got downwind it was all over. Figured I would head on home early. Found a bunch of rubs and a few trees to set up for next year. Can't wait !!

Sorry guys, season's over and its tag soup for me. I feel like I let you down but it certainly wasn't from lack of trying. I hunted hard enough this season to drop 35lbs between Oct 1st and Nov 17th. Must have plateaued there but I still hunted every opportunity I had available thru Jan 1st. In all I think I had in excess of 75 sits this year but it just wasn't in the cards for me this year. I only had a few bucks in range and the only one of interest was the 8 point I passed on Nov. 10th. I have to say, if nothing else, this contest kept me pushing into the woods trying to connect. Oh well, have to be better next year. It was sincerely a pleasure sharing the season with you.

You made my day. I am not the only one eating tags soup. Hope we have better luck next year
