This was my FIL’s from, I dunno, the 1800’s. Hahaha. It’s been sitting in the case for years now. Went to pull it back tonight slowly and it wouldn’t budge. Either the lb is off or the cams are frozen. But decided it was going to get hung up as wall art if nothing else.

Says 55# and 30” draw. It wouldn’t budge.

If you are ever interested in shooting trad, that riser makes a great recurve. Lots of people covert them to ILF. With a minimal amount of work you can bolt Sage limbs on it. It’s the same riser as the Bear Black Bear.

I'll have to double check but I think I have the same bow at home... it says 70pds but either I'm a wimp or mine is "stuck" like yours and I'm scared to muscle it

@Sticknstring88 do u have a link to a good diy write-up?

Following...any info on additional risers that you can mount trad limbs too?

Mine is actually a Jennings forked lightning

It was given to me and I just hung it up on the wall....nevermind the copper wire string.... :eek:

This thread is making me wish I had kept my old Golden Eagle. Not sure if it would be compatible with a trad limb swap but it'd be fun trying.

Is there a place to go to find out which old riders are compatible with Sage or ILF limbs?

I looked around tradtalk a bit and they have some lists...they call them warf bows

@Razorbak66 sent me this Hoyt Rambo to warf. I was real hesitant to actually make the ILF conversion plates cause I'm just not too handy. Got to looking at the thing today though and it turns out that Sage limbs fit inside the limb pocket of the Rambo. Only needed to grind the little nub/tab off by the limb bolt. There was 1/16 of space on either side of the limb once it was tightened into the pocket that created a bit of play. Took a piece of kydex and molded it into a limb sleeve while hot. The final product was nice. No side to side play at all. Cannibalized my Sage for donor limbs to see if it would fling an arrow and you know what? It did! Lost considerable poundage off the 35lb limbs (down to 29lbs at 27 1/4" draw) because the Rambo riser is longer than my Sage (20 1/2" vs 19). It shot well though. Shot about 25 arrows this afternoon and I was surprised with how VERY VERY QUIET it was. Think I'll hit the riser with a wire wheel tomorrow and get all the old paint off it. Can't wait to see what this thing turns into! Today's test was kind of just seeing if it would shoot and not blow up. Think it was a success! ;)

Nice! Excellent post.

Some concern that those flip flops are not approved footwear, though. Was pretty sure the only allowable footwear on this site was crocs. ;-)
