Hey All
I know it would mean a lot more moves but does anyone do this without aiders
I’m pretty stable on steps but limited amount of use on a bad rebuilt ankle makes me not able to use anything with any flex.
Can it be done if so is there a video showing this?

Yes, I've done it. It's technically possible. Definitely slow. I wonder depending on your desired height if all the moves would in net effect hurt your ankle as much.

Have you considered an aider step with solid footing? It might have its own safety, weight, or noise drawbacks. Just an idea.

One sticking without aider is definitely not efficient, I would be interested in the solution that will be proposed for a buddy whose right led has been amputated just above the knee (he actually use standard sticks but needs a lot to get to hunting height)
I would suggest 2 TC or SRT/DSRT climbing with the pedal on your ''good leg''

Find an old full length stick. Definitely want a friendly hitch on your tether like a soft sticht because you will want to step down a step after moving your tether up the tree. Otherwise reaching your stick can require a good bit of effort.

yeah you can. I used to on the old lonewolf 3 step stick. I had an aider but could only use one aider step because the height of the stick couldnt be placed above your tether.
Longer stick and figure out how low below your tether to place it. It really wouldnt be that big of a deal
