One sticks (rabbit hole... nothing to see here)

My parts are coming in today and tomorrow so hopefully will have some pics in by end of the week

I still need to add a cam cleat to this one, but someone mentioned a similiar setup. I did shorten the length a bit and drilled my cleat & rope holes today.
This will make zero sense to some, but I paid the initial bat/raptor price which was quite a bit so had to invest/buy more at the reduced price to bring my piece price down.

Did you cut both ends off? The bottom of my stick is only about 1/2 inch the top I'm gonna cut 1 inch off it looks the same as your picture. Thanks

Yes, sounds about right... both ends are flush with the end of the alum tube that way. If you notice there is still the original two holes on the bottom.

Don't cut too close to the holes - keep some alum structure around the holes for max strength.

On this one I used the short SHCS supplied, may have come up with my own also and bolted from the front of the step to the front side wall only of the 1in alum sq. tube. Still bolt the clamping one in the back ad normal.

Edit: snapped some pics... also you're gonna have to modify the caps if you want to use them. I haven't gotten that far, but I'm thinking I'll just trim out one side with a knife to clear the nut on the inside of the tube.

Here is a good one showing the rope through the stick with a stopper knot tied. It's up to you to judge if it is a safe and smart a way to go for yourself. You're on your own out there...

Ooh I like how you got around the top bolt @Chrighton

I bought a feather stick to put them on so 2 things popped up.

1) The end of the stick sticks up a little bit past the platform

2) I can’t thread the 1 1/4” bolt to get the platform on without drilling out a bigger hole or flipping it like you did in your picture

I'm not sure what you're getting at with #2. You need different hardware?
Probably best to go all the way through the tube if you can especially on the bottom step. I may change that.

I’m not familiar with this stick but I just wanted to stop by and say the standard rule of thumb is 1.5 x diameter for material thickness for a hole near an edge for tear out. I wouldn’t want to push my luck on that min wal thickness and cut flush with the step, especially the bottom step. It’ll be fine until it isn’t. Cool builds keep ‘em coming.

Yes, which it is close to that. I tried it out just with the interier/rear clamping bolt and it was secure without the front one.
Agree may want to leave more stick under the bottom hole(s).

I decided to not cut the tube down for now after thinking about it. I think it's getting really close to the big hole on the back of the stick. And by using the top and bottom holes like beast video says it makes the standoffs about 19" apart probably better.

The center bolt that attaches the platform to stick, is supposed to thread back to front, but only attach to the front wall of tube. The soc head doesn’t let the bolt go through both walls bc it’s not long enough.

That’s why the beast stick has the larger hole at the top/bottom

Edit: I’ll post pics today when I get home from work

They gave me two different sizes on the soc head bolts so you could use either way.

The longer ones are to use behind the tube to basically pinch the platform around it. I may try and pick up some 1 1/2” to see if that works

I’m just worried to only have it bolted to part of the stick

I’m assuming they made that design for a reason but also don’t want to have to change up the featherstick

They gave me extra then because the one's for the bracket are regular 7/16
