OOAL new product (The BOB)

Ridge runner 2.0

Nice! Glad it’s out. A little more expensive than I was hoping.

That’s the one I’ve been waiting for! Is it actually called RR 2? Or you just calling it that?

On the OOAL website they call it the ridge runner 2.0. That thing folds almost as flat as a predator and looks like it would bite the tree twice as hard as a predator(like Matt’s sticks).

Came in a bit heavier than expected. I was gung-ho, but that's a bit of a disappointment.

Maybe that's with the step and a few ounces can be shed to come closer to the o.g. RR.

Wow I was expecting a little less weight too. Bummer. Not sure that’s a total deal breaker for me. Will have to sleep on it a bit.

Whew, Glad the RR 2.0 wasn't the BOB, I just had a mini bout of depression.:fearful:

at this point I am just hoping everyone isn't disappointed on the BOB lol.

The 4.2lbs on the RR 2.0 doesn't bother me. I mean we are talking about approx. 5oz heavier than an EDP. I always liked the shape of the RR so this new 2.0 has me putting my hand on my wallet. Need to think about it a bit more

What is this fictious creature known as "BOB"?!?

I'm ready to buy a platform, c'mon!
Like a Subaru, I'm about to blow a head gasket.

I hear ya. We all just want a hover-platform!

Nothing against OOAL. Solid company run by solid dude. It just seems odd that we can have a 5.5 lb hang on stand but can't seem to get a cam over platform of reasonable size (room for just our feet mind you) for less than 4.X lbs.

Physics I guess.

I certainly don't count the RR2 out. Matt's added some innovative features to an already nice platform.

It's just that he kind of suggested it might come in closer to the original on weight.

I already have a RRxl, and a pack that it fits in, and for the extra pound I like the extra size. But I see this as a winner over the o.g.RR.

I agree 100%.

Does anyone use the Podium, Ridge Runner, XL or the RR2 as a chair at ground level? Seems like the RR2 maybe uncomfortable in that scenario.

Asking for a friend....

I’ve never understood the “saddle at ground level” thing. The whole idea of being at ground level for me has always been to just sit on the ground and not be tied into a tree. Trophyline/Novix has the Mission as well as the Helo. If you were to make the Mission larger it would essentially be a Helo…and if you made the Helo smaller it’d be a Mission. Personally I don’t see room in the market for an in-between. The Helo platform is about as small as I’d like with a seat and the Mission is as large as one would need without a seat. But I would love to be surprised.

I get what your saying, but my question has to do with boots on the ground, butt on dry platform, and back against tree.

Not all setups are created equally.

i gotcha. I’ve never hung a “seat” with a platform at ground level. I just hunker down with a foam pad and wait.
