has anyone else seen this page on the OOAL site, or have any ideas on what it could be? obviously its going to be more designed for a preset location, but im curious what that could mean

Yep it is a solo scout with 4 bolt holes in the tree bracket portion. It might even have a strap slot to ratchet it to the tree. So You can either strap it to the tree or get some lag bolts and mount it to the tree for presets.
