I ordered a Shikar mini on 5/27. Website said 3 weeks, that will be Wednesday. If nothing happens I will strongly consider cancelling my order Since I already received a set of Hawk minis that I ordered after. It’s a shame, hopefully they are true to their word and ship them out on Wednesday(or at least update the order status). As a man of principle I just can’t abide by false advertising. I understand small businesses get behind, but it takes 5 minutes to update a website which is your main source of revenue. So there is no excuse for a false shipping timeline.
Not yet. I emailed them asking for an update.
Also trying to figure out why shipping takes 3 weeks in the continental US. I wonder if they mean manufacturing? In which case it would take an additional week plus to arrive. So their website should say 4 weeks until delivery instead of 3 weeks for shipping.
Edit: received a response that it is shipping today - and now I’m a satisfied customer.
It shipped exactly 3 weeks from order date. I guess I was just being semantically picky. Maybe Aerohunter has me a little gun shy. At any rate, I am currently tracking it and should arrive Saturday. I know one thing I’ll be doing this weekend.Yeah it’s manufacturing for sure. Can catch him on Facebook assembling and building them. I’m sure he could shave a week or two off by making us assemble them ourselves like others lol.

The thing with these small businesses (Aerohunter, OOAL) is that they aren't holding inventory waiting to go. They are building to fill existing orders so lead time is affected by how busy they are at any given time.
This is different than the major manufacturers like Hawk who turn a large quantity and stock sub-distributor shelves. On the other hand, if you want to buy a Hawk product once the season's run is sold out you're either going to have to wait until next year or find one used. I've experienced that one first hand.
The upside to the small business is they're always producing so they're never completely "out of stock", given a small lead time.
I definitely get that.Agreed. My problem has always been companies that over- promise on the timeline because they know people don’t want to hear about a super long wait time, knowing it’s not the truth, all in the name of getting a dollar. Which I’m not against someone earning a dollar, but there’s a difference. It’s either that or they expect me to believe that in 2019/2020 a company that does the majority of its business on the internet can’t seem to figure out how to update a webpage with the correct shipping timeline??? Either it’s dishonesty or incompetence, either way, not someone I want to trust my life to.
That said OOAL lived up to their stated timeline. My hat is off to the guy that makes the Cruzrs, saying up front that’s going to be a while, hopefully they can stick to their timeline, or be honest if they can’t. And some leeway can be given with a brand new thing but at some point we as consumers have to call BS when we see it.
Welp I got my top step scout today and the honeymoon is officially over. It It took less than a week to get here, but doesn’t fit on the stick. There’s a piece of paper in the box about “visit out YouTube page for instructions”, yeah no. Why can’t it just go straight on the the stick they make? Well I don’t have enough data to stream an instructional video so that they can get a few pennies for my time. I wonder if I just took a hammer and started beating it mercilessly if it would fit like a bloody glove. Seems like I need to remove some metal somewhere to make it fit. Maybe a skill saw will work. That’s about the extent of my tools lying around. Wish me luck!
It’s a mini so there wasn’t a top step. Also hoping the original bolt works, but it looks shorter than the one in the bottom step.Hahaha yes not ideal!!!
You need to scrape the coating off with a knife where the scout will fit on. There should of been a spot where some black coating is gone from the double step. Just need to make it a little bigger. Make sense?
