Opinion on a diy tether.

I was going to get 13ft 11.4 mm double braid climbing rope with a 9 mm eye to eye Prusik with a carabiner. Is that a good tether set up. I was thinking about the tree hopper recon saddle. I already have a lineman’s rope set up.
 
If you're thinking 13' without splices or knots that sounds about right, if that's finished length that would be crazy long. My 8' finished length tether has just the right amount to tie a figure 8 knot with what's left and clip into my caribener.

I was going to do 13 ft without any knots or splices. That exactly what I was going to do. I was going to tie a figure eight. Thank you for your info.
 
Have you checked out the ropes at doublesteps.com w/ @DanO. He's got everything you'll need and you might want to look at some of the 8 and 9mm ropes.
