Optimal hunting height?

Yep, I have a savage 220 and the Hornady SST slugs. I will pull the trigger next year at 200 yards just to check. I have done it on paper at 200 and every shot was inside a 5 inch circle. At 100 yards I had 3 slug holes touching

All things being equal, I’m going to be 30ft. When I started hunting at 30ft I started seeing more deer and had more deer walk right under the trees I was sitting in than ever before. Probably a couple of reasons. I’m seeing them before they see me and my scent column is higher. Yes, the shot angles are more difficul, but I’ll take that over seeing less deer or getting busted any day.

I used to be a 30ft or bust guy in my climber. Now if I feel I have to be 30ft to kill deer in an area, I'll go find another area.
