Ordered a Dryad Drey Yesterday!

I climbed in the sticky heat today to hunting height and hung out for a while . Very versatile and comfortable. Quite natural to find proper height for attachment to my climbing/ tether. I would have taken a nap if it weren't so bloody hot. Dane you got something going on with this design!

Man you are braver then me, I am not doing crap in this heat besides drinking a ice cold beer after working all day.

Probably not braver just a little brain dead ! As long as I don't have to worry about my appearance I don't care about the heat - I think I learned how to flip that switch during my time in the military. I believe it goes "if you don't mind it doesn't matter ". I certainly wouldn't want to try to look presentable in a suit in this disgusting weather. I have been drinking more ice water and Gatorade lately.

Looks like I ordered a week too soon. I just clipped a carabiner around the belt and through the last molle loop on my right side. It works well enough for the linemans belt, but sure would have liked to had the loops built in.

Maybe call or email and ask to just swap the belt only out to that model. I’m sure it’s so new it’s an option to exchange it.

I’d definitely contact Dane and see what he can do for you. He seemed very willing to help out anyway he could when I messaged with him.

From the couple of messages I sent to him I have no doubt he would work with me on something, but I don't want him to feel obligated to. I have climbed with it 2-3 times in the yard and it seems to work well enough like it is.

Would any of you say this is like a saddle? Or different? Would you put it in its own classification?

A lot like a fleece saddle w/o the need for a rch…. I’d say if your hanging/sitting/leaning from a tether that’s some form of saddle hunting
To clarify. If you put saddles in one group. The JX3 in another. Could you place it with either of those? Or start its own group.

Hmmm, we’ll it’s a lot like RCH with a giant comfy back band!!!
traditional saddles for the most part all are belted & the fabric makes the seat. A JX3 is just a hard framed version of the same concept (support wise). The drey is a bit different because your wearing a minimalist belt & the “saddle” is deployed at height so more similar to JX3 in theory….. so hybrid?????

Just contact him and let him know what you want. See what happens.

How is everyone liking the drey so far? I still can’t find any pictures or video of it yet and I figured there would be more popping up by now.
It’s a hammock, I am sure everyone is loving. I have seen one review on the saddle hunting you tube channel

The novel thing to me isn't that we have a well produced commercial version of the @justsomedude hammock sling. It's the extreme minimalism of the belt.

This is about the only saddle I might actually wear to the stand.

I’ve seen his video. But nothing else. Usually saddles will have multiple YouTube reviews come out and I haven’t seen any others yet or pictures here. I’m just curious how people will start setting it up as far as sticks and platforms etc since you can’t really have pouches etc.

I saw that he offered linesman loops which is a big upgrade, so using sticks should be easier. My bigger concern is wind noise at height. Where I live it’s pretty common to have 15-20 mph winds, I have never in my entire life heard a hammock material that is silent in real winds. Some even sound like sails on a sail boat. So I agree with you 100%, I want to see some reviews (personally see them showing it used at height in windy conditions). In theory this would have to be the most comfortable option ever. In practice I need more than someone just telling me it’s great. I am more of a visual learner. I really do hope that it’s very successful though. It’s nice to see some innovative commercial ideas (even if it’s not a new idea in theory)
