I'm curious as to where the terms knaider/swaider originated? Did some searching here and on the web, but haven't found the answer.

I presume knaider comes from: knee aider. Makes sense.

But for the life of me, I can't deduce the origin of the term swaider?

If you can clear up this mystery, I would be grateful.

Swaider is the Swamp sniper aider. Someone else made the knaider and then swamp sniper paired it with his aider, the Swaider and a legend was born!

This is best I can figure.

@swampsniper if you can elaborate we'd love to hear it from the horse's mouth.

Here’s what happened.

I’m terrible with names so forgive me.

DaveT introduced his carry as you go aider, but we didn’t have to have hyped up catchy names back then. It was just a simple webbing loop you threw over your sticks that hung lower than your bottom step.
I wanted something that I didn’t want to worry about dropping to the ground or fishing my foot into so I modded it to girth hitch around my foot.
Peter (don’t remember the rest of his handle name) came up with the knaider ( knee Aider). Someone suggested ( maybe Peter) adding the aider style that I used for the other foot. Since one was called the knaider, G2 named the one I used the Swaider for Swampsnyper aider. You see, everything had to have cool names by this time. And here we are today and I rarely even use an aider because it’s too much crap. Lol I will only use a cable aider on my bottom step sometimes because it’s big and sticks out away from the tree, easy to step into and I don’t have to carry it around.
