I'm surprised they haven't been sued for all the lies they told. It's not a good app anyway.

I’m glad I didn’t drop OnX hunt. The developer of Spartan Forge is a vet and I watched a few SeekOne episodes with him as they moved to his platform and he genuinely seemed down to earth and a good guy. But something like this can’t be a one man show either. Not saying it is but there wasn’t a lot of perceived depth in his development team either. I know several tubers and influencers transitioned over like Martonik, Prawl, Morgan, May, Sherk (maybe), Seek One obviously. I haven’t used it myself at all however.
 
Mine just came up for renewal. Perhaps it was user error when I signed up but I expected to stay at a cheaper price because I originally signed up with some discount code. The renewal was $29.99 so I passed. All my stuff is in OnX anyway. I will revisit it in the future but for now the app just isn't right for me.

Yes! I think it’s funny people talking about nothing on “their cam’s” ….I think it’s crazy to base what I’m doing off of just looking thru a peep hole in a sense
 
Spartan Forge is very good for predicting deer movement and it tells you when the rut dates are in your area. I used baseMaps and onxmaps as well. Onxmaps is miles ahead of Spartan Forge in every other category its not even close. So my advice would be to use both of them would be the best choice.
 
It’s a decent app, it’s just another tool in the bag basically. I don’t put much stake in the deer movement but I like the way they lay out the weather on the intel tab and it keeps me from having to look it up in other places. If they can get there topo maps updated and get the web browser running I think it will be even better. Onx maps are just gonna be impossible to beat, especially with the 3D slope exaggeration on the browser version.

So I got an app update today for Spartan. Apparently there is a free app option with the update. I don't immediately see what you get with the free version. My membership doesn't run out for a few weeks. But I'll check out the free portion once it expires.
 
I thought I was locked in at $19.99 per year when I signed up last year. My plan renews in 10 days, and now it’s $39.99. I cancelled. At that price, it’s just not worth it me. The only thing I really liked about it was the journal entry portion.

I see my next billing is 14 days. I think I paid 14.99 last year and it was supposed to be locked at that rate. I don’t see what it plans to charge me.

I updated my app this morning and it showed up then. I also appear to have lost my public private boundaries and lamba map with that update. Lamba map is just black screen.

I'm one of the $19.99/yr early adopters too. When I look on the app on my phone, it says $39.99/yr but when I log in on an internet browser it says $19.99/yr still. I think it's a mess up on their part but I'll be watching to make sure I renew at 19.99.
 
Just email them if your locked in, they get back to you pretty quick and can help you. I think I paid $14.99 also at first but it is locked in for life for $19.99.
 
The guys are scam artists for sure. Paid for a product that doesn't not deliver anything they said it would.

A lot of companies throw around terms like AI and machine learning as a pure marketing ploy. In truth, you need massive amounts of predictive data for these things to actually work. I would be highly highly skeptical of the claims they are making. Saying this as a someone who has worked much of my career in tech companies that actually use ML/AI.
 
I keep waiting for something groundbreaking to surface with the app, the predictive feature seems to just be basic common sense for the most part and the “high definition” imagery doesn’t seem all that groundbreaking. There’s a lot of “influencers” I follow who have earned their reputation as consistent buck killers that still talk up SF like it’s best thing since sliced bread. I just don’t see it.

Aren't influencers often paid as sponsors?

Yeah, they all have a different version of the app too. I don’t think it’s anything wildly different than some of the options already out there but it’s not terribly expensive either. I’m going to stick around and see if we ever get a full version and what it all entails.
