I talked with an outdoor editor and recreational real estate agent who speculated the whole mobile hunting craze was created to lower property value.
I’m guessing he isn’t a mobile hunter?

Been using it since beta. Got a pretty good deal on spartan forge. I love it. Like it better than onx and the best part its cheaper lol
There is a desktop version i just can not wait for.Yep I like it also and am locked in for $20 for life. I still use onx and some other map apps as well, but its a great app that I'm using more than the rest.
Wait, yall are paying monthly/annually to access free public information held at your local county assessors office?
Very very Interesting

That's usually intentional. Products are made worse so that you're stuck using them. I try to intentionally avoid giving business to products that do that if there's any sort of reasonable alternative.I have it for the year because I forgot to cancel the free trial. For my area, they have by far the best imagery of any of the apps I've tried. Unfortunately, the website is pointless (sounds like that's changing) and I can't figure out if there's a way to export waypoints, tracks, etc. I don't think there is, which sucks because I like to fiddle around with that stuff in other programs...
I'm probably a decade into huntstand. Played with all the other apps and can't switch.I am trying out hunt stand also. I do like onx for ease of use. Might try Spartan forge out again but I am pretty vested in onX I have thousands of pins
Is there a way to import onX pins into spartan forge?
Coming with the desktop version.....hoping by end of next monthIs there a way to import onX pins into spartan forge?
Bill said a free version with property owner information will be available this fall with basic imagery. For upgraded imagery (less then 1/2 foot in many areas, lidar, and other app features you'll be able to upgrade at like 5-6 bucks a month if you just want to go month to month during season.....Wait, yall are paying monthly/annually to access free public information held at your local county assessors office?

The movement prediction is fairly accurate for the SE from my experience. Just remember it's not telling you to hunt today vs stay on the couch....it's saying deer are staying in core areas vs transitional areas and staying to there regular routines vs random, irregular travels. Just gives you a little more idea whether to stay closing to bedding, more in between food and bedding or closer to food, if you have the options. Also have had very good luck with predicted wind direction and strength using this app.The only real advantage to Spartanforge, I think, is the imagery. That's it. Their historical wind feature is nice but I can live without it. I'm not going to use it for the movement prediction (that stuff is location specific IMO, especially at time scales that affect my hunting).

Ultimately I couldn’t convert and hold myself to only 1 hunting map app. I have SF and HuntStand. I love both for different reason and try to use each for different things. Had OnX for a few years too and that’s what got me started on the apps to begin with. OnX is awesome but for the $ I couldn’t justify keeping it in addition to the other two.Something like this is what it would take for me to dip my toe in and consider converting. Pretty happy overall with onx but SF seems feature laden
